River House on the River

  • Completely remodeled in 2017, this two bedroom, one bath cabin is on the Gunnison River. The cabin is on 2.5 acres of riverfront property and across a footbridge that will take you to the Water Park (my balance isn't great and with no handrails, I do not use it). The Dos Rios Grill and Golf Course (open to the public) is a lovely .5 mile walk. A great spot for kayaking, trout fishing spot, and an excellent base camp for exploring the Gunnison valley. Located just miles from Hartman Rocks Rec area, Blue Mesa Reservoir, 2 miles from downtown Gunnison, Colorado, 1/2 mile from Dos Rios Golf Course and 30 miles from Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. Enjoy skiing, rafting, fly fishing, and biking right out your front door! We are in the flight path, but it's Gunnison airport, not DIA. I think the planes are cool to watch when they do fly over.

    This property is shared with The Aspen House. All hammocks, firepits, and picnic tables are there for the two homes to share. There is a lot of room, so play nice and enjoy this park-like atmosphere!

Cabin was just as advertised…clean, perfect location on the river, responsive host, etc. My family enjoyed our stay and we’d certainly recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful anniversary getaway to Gunnison and this location was perfect. Just a few minutes to get into town and the river is pretty much in the backyard. Can't get a better view than that!

We love this property. It is right on the river. There is a park that you can walk to, as well. This property has all the amenities that you would need for a week long stay. Jenny, the property manager, is very communicative and helpful. I think this may be our 3rd or 4th time staying at this property. Will definitely go back.

This was a very convenient location for nearby ice fishing at blue Mesa Reservoir. The house is very clean, well stocked and comfortable. The location, with the river directly behind the house, is super nice!

Throughly enjoyed our stay. Easy access to Crested Butte & Blue Mesa Reservoir. Enjoyed how well stocked the kitchen was as we ate in most meals. The provided board games were a hit with our kids. They even put up a small Christmas tree as we were there around the holidays! Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the quiet spot on the river, campfires under star-lit skies, and relaxing with family. It was great to have both cabins so all of us could be close in comfortable surroundings.

I really enjoyed my stay at the river house. You can't beat the location--close to Gunnison and yet, still some seclusion. I'll stay again.

Great place in a great location! This house had every thing we needed and was well stocked with necessities including kitchen items for cooking. We especially enjoyed the deck right on the river!
