"We had a great stay at House Rustico. It is about a 15-20 mins drive away to Plitvice national park, and it is located in a nice little town near a forest. The room is big, clean and is well equipped. Vila Velebita is at the other side of the small town, and is the place where you have to collect the keys to your rooms. Vila Velebita is also a great option for dinner and breakfast, it offers traditional cuisine and has a nice atmosphere with traditional Croatian music. When we stayed in house Rustico there was a bear in the surrounding forest that made quite some noise during the night. It was also an interesting experience to walk back from Vila Velebita in the dark to house Rustico while we saw garbage containers overturned and a (fresh) drool trail of the bear. This is of course not the hotel's fault, but keep in mind that the surroundings contain wild life. We stayed in the hotel during September in which bears enter hyperphagia (feeding frenzy) so that explains the bear's behavior. "
