    Good Harbor Haven is a charming home that would be perfect for your next beach getaway. The home has a lovely interior with room enough for the whole family.     The home is located just east of Gloucester. Here you can find markets, museums, a harbor walk, and plenty of great restaurants. It is a 5-minute drive to a fantastic array of shopping, local eating and less than a 10-minute drive to the center of Rockport.
    What really makes this home wonderful, however, is its close proximity to Good Harbor Beach - you could even walk there under 6 minutes! You also can find tons to do in the surrounding area. Parks, museums, lighthouses, historical sites to name a few. There's even a Medieval castle in this city and you must take one of its famous tours! We're talking about Hammond Castle, which is roughly six miles away from you. For more family-friendly fun, spend your afternoon at Maritime Gloucester.

Beach cottage perfect for our needs. Great location, convenient to going everywhere including walking to the beach! Super easy check-in! Great rental.

Charming Cottage Steps to Beach

This cute cottage was a 10 minute walk to the private side of Good Harbor Beach, which we loved. Lots of clean towels and comfy beds and sofa. We also loved the games and puzzles. So fun to visit a new part of the country. Very close to Gloucester and also Rockport and we enjoyed both. Highly recommend the whale watch too!

Glousta rocks!

Beautiful home, clean and inviting! We loved every second being there and will come back again. It is a bit tricky getting out of the driveway, but that is because oncoming traffic is driving way too fast. Thank you for your hospitality.

Wonderfully cozy!!!

The cottage was a home away from home. Everything was easily accessible. Plenty of fresh linens and towels. Fully stocked kitchen was a bonus. Plus it has a quaint little outdoor sitting area that was great to enjoy with your morning coffee. It was very close to the beach and to town. We really loved staying here. Next time we visit, we will be looking forward to renting this cottage again. Great all around!

Enjoyed Our Stay

We had a great time at the cottage. It was awesome to be able to walk to a beach (carefully along a busy street with no sidewalk). The negatives: the cottage is small, the stairs a bit treacherous, the wiring upstairs a bit sketchy. The positives: the space is maximized nicely, the kitchen works well, and it was clean. We were 4 adults and 2 toddlers and would stay again.

Great Location

We loved the location of the house, it was a short walk to the beach. It has everything we needed. One reason I’m giving it an 4 starts is because our heat did not work. We could not get clear directions to turn it on or how to trouble shoot even after an email. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Nice cottage

A basic old cottage, fine for short stays. Has a basic kitchen with most cookware you’d need, new appliances. Bathroom is small, but newly remodeled. chairs and toys provided in the shed were nice for trips to the nearby beach. The beach is short walking distance, (beach parking is $30 otherwise) One downside is the road the cottage is on can be busy during the day. No laundry, but a laundromat is nearby if needed.

Untimely cancellation

My reservation was canceled by the owner 4 hour prior to check in when we were already on the road. When I called the property management, they didn’t even try or offer another property or any compensation for inconvenience, just the money back. It’s not just inconvenient but super stressful for anyone, needless to say for a mom with.3 kids already on the road.

Small, outdated uncomfortable furniture. Dirty living room rug that was a tripping hazard. Partial AC (1 window unit on 1st floor) not adequate. Updated kitchen was well equipped. Staircase to the second floor is narrow and steep.

Lovely on the outside , dark heavy musty smell on inside . Bathroom and kitchen are updated & nice aside from moldy shower curtain in bathroom . There was not comfortable place to sit or sleep. Old hard mattresses , uncomfortable old furniture. Poor ventilation, many windows don’t even open . The stairs to the upstairs are treacherous. Walking to the beach is very dangerous as the road is 2 lane highway.

Cute home, but...

This is a cute, charming home with an updated kitchen. However, the walls are paper thin and floors creaked. You can hear everyone and everything, including the cars since this house is situated on the main road. Trying to sleep is a bit difficult if you like peace and quiet. Also, being on the main road, the walk to the beach is not ideal if you have little kids or elderly. There are no sidewalks. Overall, it was a well enough stay for a few days. The house is tidy. Although, it could've been cleaned a little better. We found hair, not ours, in some places and dust and cobwebs were everywhere. In addition, we had a constant presence of carpenter ants. We saw at least 3-5 every day. Any food and drinks needed to be put in the fridge or closed up tight. I gave this home three stars because the house is comparable to glamping in a cabin in the woods.

It was ok. Check in/check out was a breeze. It’s nothing special. Kitchen was newer everything else is out dated and old. Definitely not the most comfortable furniture if you’re staying for a while, it seems like everything was just put in there to occupy space. Most of the windows are screwed shut so even on a nice day you can’t open them and get good air flow but there are a few small air conditioners that kept it cool. Screen in living room was broken and almost all of the smaller knives in the block had broken tips. Bathtub liner was covered with mold and unglued from the bottom of tub (I reached out and was told “ Hello, thank you for contacting us about this. I will be informing the local team of this so that they could be able to assist you further with this” and never heard anything about it again.) the driveway is kind of a pain to pull in and out of. It says “beach access” the beach access is 4 minutes away which is no problem it’s a short walk, the road is a highway but there’s plenty of room to walk down the side of the road without being on the road. There is a grill and a small yard and a table and chairs outback to hangout in which was nice. Overall it was a good experience, I probably won’t stay here again but it was a nice little getaway.

Will not return…

We wanted to love this rental. After driving 16 hrs, we were presented with a home that was not tolerable. We had to stay 2 nights (out of 5) due to lack of other options. As advertised, The kitchen is well appointed and updated. It is a short walk to Good Harbor Beach. However, the home is located on a busy road so walking with small children may be tricky and it is very noisy from the traffic. There was a significant sewer smell coming from the water in the bathroom. Worst part was the cockroaches and ants!! Waking to cockroaches on my pillow was the last straw. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Cute house in great location

Location great for visiting Gloucester and Rockport. Owners did a great job with modern kutchen addition on the back while keeping seaside cottage charm up front. Guests taking chairs & gear to the beach may want to drive over to Good Harbor Beach Inn entrance, drop off, drive back to house and take the short walk. So worth it!

We can't wait to come back.

The cottage is adorable and it was a short walk to both Good Harbor Beach and Long Beach (opposite directions from the house). Good Harbor Beach is beautiful, but it wasn't warm enough yet to spend much time on the beach. So instead we had fun in Rockport, went for a hike and checked out a local winery. After dinner we walked to get ice cream on the way to Long Beach, where you can walk along the boardwalk. This was the perfect place for us to get away to and we will definitely be back.
