Handy stop off on the way to Glasgow or Edinburgh
Our rooms were not in the main building. They were big but definitely need refreshing. Good dinner and breakfast. Handy stop off on our way back to Edinburgh.

We stayed here as a pit stop to Edinburgh Airport to see the Kelpies on the way. Lovely hotel, rooms were a great size. However we had a cup of tea in our room after a 4 hr journey and when we asked for more milk for the next morning we were refused! TV was very small for the size of the room, but other than that a comfortable stay.

The hotel gave me a separate apartment. There was a lamp outside every apartment that stayed on all night. The curtains were very thin and poorly maintained. The room was bright all night, and I tried to figure out how to turn off the lamp until morning, but I couldn't. It was impossible to sleep in that brightness, and I woke up extremely tired.

Great potential, but disappointing stay
The staff here were excellent, as all offered great service. The small selection of continental breakfast with your choice of freshly cooked hot breakfast too was also excellent and the surroundings were comfortable, clean and stylish. The issues relate to the accommodation, specifically the motel style rooms surrounding the car park. We walked in to a very cold room, but I'm pleased to say the radiator worked so well the room was warm in 10 minutes. Our twin room was very spacious, but quite run down. There was a permanent stain on the throw over the bed, the mirror looked like it should have been thrown out a decade ago, the shower door didn't form a proper seal when closed, there was no shelf in the shower, no heating in the bathroom, and no curtain covering the window on the rear door. There is a film on the glazed panels for privacy, but it doesn't stop a lot of light beaming through all night. Unfortunately the worst thing was the thick layer of dust on the top shelves of the open cupboard. I put my jumper on there and it got covered in dust. The rest of the room was very clean,. I appreciate if a cleaner is smaller than 6ft they won't see it, but you have to expect an open shelf will get dusty and clean it. I think staying in the main hotel should be good, but I wouldn't recommend staying in the motel style rooms between the car park and the main road.

Great stay with a few missing elements
It was a nice spacious room, with a very large bathroom. It is associated with a restaurant, which serves some very nice dishes. There are a few things missing and some strange practical choices in the room and bathroom - but overall it was a good stay.

Very good practical accommodation. The staff, service and standard of food were of a very high standard. The only negative feedback that I'm passing on is that there was a number of cigarette dumps discarede outside of the chalets

Unloved and tired...
The accommodation part of this hotel is totally unloved and tired, which is exactly how as a guest you will feel the day that you check out of this hotel. They do not have any systems in place to ensue that the maid services highlight any issues with the room before they then sell the rooms to unsuspecting guests. They tricked me into paying full price for a room that did not have a working TV. It is also did not have a remote control with batteries that worked either. The TV remote would not operate the TV even when fitted with new batteries. The TV would also not work using the manual buttons on the side. So, basically I purchased a room without a TV! Thanks! I also had to put up with a constant very loud drip from the shower head during my whole stay. Thanks for that! To top it off I go to iron a couple of shirts and find a filth ironing board cover! Thanks for that one too! Although, the carpets in the room weren't filthy (I've seen worse), they were dirty. So, why not hire a rug doctor and give the carpets a clean, and while your at it, wash or replace the ironing board cover, and whilst your doing that fix the TV, and also whilst your in the mood for it fix the shower head too. And then, and only then, place the room back up for sale!! Room 254.. I wasn't even offered any discount on my evening meal, or even a free pint!! Thanks for that!! I'll never go back to that hotel again...!!

The stay was okay for one night. The room was too hot, was able to turn down the heating but when opened the window was kept awake by traffic. Walls thin could hear coughing from somewhere. Pillows uncomfortable. Shower was powerful

Usually Good this Time Not So Much
They firstly put us in a room with the curtains hanging down at one side and a light that flickered on and off right o/s window, we asked to move they only had a room above a function that was scheduled to finish at 1am, which was very noisy. When we went to breakfast we were told someone else had that room booked so we needed to vacate by 11 ao they could get it cleaned. I said we could be out by 12 but not 11, which was agreed. We paid £220 for 2 nights and feel something should've been offered for the nightmare we had with rooms. Breakfast and staff there were all great as usual.
