Oh dear. Having worked in hospitality and tourism for close to 30 years, I always try to find the positive when things go wrong but booking this apartment was a huge mistake. We arrived late on a Monday to find that it wasn’t the apartment that we’d actually booked on Expedia - it didn’t bear even a close resemblance - however we thought best make do and then speak to the agent the following day. Unfortunately by that point we’d found a seemingly endless list of snagging points including leaking shower door and various broken elements in the bathroom; a ripped curtain and curtains that weren’t big enough to block the windows; and - worst of all for a self-catering apartment - the most scratch/damaged cooking pans I’ve ever seen including a pasta pan with a handle missing and two chunks out of the side. Anyway, we made a list and took photos then headed to the agents offices the next morning to put things right, only to find there was no identifiable business at the address given so I Whatsapped everything to them. They said they’d remedy damaged items, however we went round in circles about not being given the apartment we’d booked on Expedia that culminated in being told along the lines that ‘we should count ourselves lucky that we’d got an apartment for the price we’d paid’ with the inference that it was cheaper than a shared hostel dormitory (which it clearly wasn’t and was a moot point anyway). Having been patronised in the extreme we decided to check out. Buyer beware!
