The location was absolutely amazing, offering the perfect balance of privacy and convenience. The house itself was beautiful, spacious, and impeccably maintained, making it an incredibly comfortable place to unwind. Our host, Mike, was extremely accommodating throughout the entire stay, going above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless for our group.The property is only a short 30 minute drive to the beach, which made day trips incredibly easy, and the surrounding area is stunning. It is a truly serene setting, with peaceful views and a sense of calm that you feel the moment you arrive. Mike is a very good host. The communication was excellent from his acceptance until few days after we left. One of my mates has forgotten his tambourine . Mike was so kind to spent an extra hours from his private time to post the forgotten item to Sydney…very grateful.Mike has shared with us some duck eggs…a new experience for most of us.

We had a wonderful stay. The style of both the house and the cottage are beautiful and Mike was a great host.We especially loved the pool and bbq area and really enjoyed the rural setting in general. The area itself is also stunning. We loved it all, from the beaches and golf courses in Forster/Tuncurry to the chicken schnitzels in the Krambach pub. Great area and wonderful accommodation.

From the moment we booked to the end of our stay Mike our host was fantastic, everything was done so easily online. Great communication and very helpful. As a group of girls coming together from all different parts of the state we all arrived safely following the directions we were given. We were greeted by some friendly ducks as we pulled into the driveway. Plenty of room for all the cars. The house was gorgeous with plenty of space for us all, we had everything we needed and only had to bring our food and of course we didn’t forget the alcohol . The kitchen was huge with plenty of space to cook for everyone, we had a Mexican style feast with everyone dressed up and all sat around the dining table, drinking and laughing together. The pool was very refreshing and some of us even had a hit on the tennis court. The pushbikes were a great addition and some of the girls thought they were kids again racing down the track and around the dam. The location is far enough from the craziness of real life yet close enough to go back into town to pick up any necessities you forget. The girls played on the pool table in the cottage and we took our Karaoke machine and had plenty of laughs at our terrible singing and dance moves. We had such a great weekend and I highly recommend staying here. Jodi

A delightful retreat you won’t want to leave

Mike is warm and friendly host who made it easy for a much anticipated family get together. Our group of 6 adults and 7 teenagers had all the space and facilities to enjoy a great long weekend. The fires and beautiful bush setting were stand outs. Thank you Mike.

Relaxing Family Wedding Stay

We have recently spent a few days at Mike and Christines Country Retreat with a large group of family and friends for a Wedding. It was a perfect blend of tranquillity and family time. The rooms were spacious and clean with more than enough room for our large group. The large kitchen living area was an amazing gathering area. The large, covered deck was a great place for the Ceremony and a big enough area to sit and catch up with all our group. It was nice to relax around the pool while still being close to the group on the deck. We would definitely recommend The Country Retreat to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. Mike and Christine were friendly and very helpful.

Our Stay at Firefly

This was the perfect place for our extended family holiday. The property & cottage were spacious and comfortable, and the pool and entertaining deck were the highlight. The host was very accomodating and hospitable, would highly recommend!

A great place for a group to come together!

We had a wonderful time at Mike and Christine's place. A group of us wanted to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday and this ticked all of the boxes. A beautiful place to stay, with plenty of room for our group and our little dog too! There was everything we needed to enjoy the weekend and Mike and Christine were fantastic hosts, easy to communicate with at every stage of the booking. Awesome stay!

Had a great weekend with my family here. Mike and Christine were great host and were very welcoming. We had lots of fun around the pool table and playing darts. Great accommodation for a family holiday

Our family group of 13, comprising 3 generations, had a great time during the Easter long weekend at Mike & Christine's Firefly property. We had ample room using both the main house as well as the cottage. The huge covered deck with a BBQ was a popular place at meal times. There was a comfy outdoor lounge setting on the veranda, a pool close to the house, a tennis court, and lovely bushland all around. During the months leading up to our stay I contacted Mike several times with various questions. He was always quick to respond and I have been impressed by his helpfulness. I would recommend Firefly to any group planning a relaxing holiday in a country location.

Great group getaway

We really enjoyed the space and privacy afforded by the property. The flexible configuration of sleeping arrangements was great for our group and not something easily found in accommodation options. Overall a much enjoyed rural getaway.

The property was really nice overall with lots of things to do. The pool was a great place to be cause it was quite hot. We really enjoyed the many facilities available at the property. The hosts Mike and Christine were also super friendly and always happy to help. Overall a really great stay and would recommend to others.

Perfect for a group

We stayed at Mike's place when competing as a team in a rowing regatta in Taree. It was the perfect place to come back to at the end of the day and jump in the pool. There were so many sleeping options which made it perfect for our group. We will be back again next year.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

We were lucky enough to book Mikes property for a birthday celebration for a large group of friends. The residence was absolutely perfect and had plenty of facilities to keep us entertained! We especially loved the tennis court and pool table. Mike went above and beyond with his communication and was really helpful and timely in his responses. Beautiful Place

I Went here with me and my friends (11 of us). this place was perfect. We stayed over a heatwave so the pool was the place to be as well as the nice air conditioning inside. The place looks amazing and many games of pool where played in the games room.

Amazing!

What a property to stay at! My friends and I had an absolute amazing time at this beautiful property. It was well equipped with everything you could need and/or want across the two houses. The place was super clean and tidy and had gorgeous country views. Mike (host) was super in his communication and support over the weekend and leading up to it. Could not have asked for anything more. Would easily come back and spend longer!

Hidden gem at Firefly

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Firefly Retreat. If you’re seeking a plenty of space to relax and great facilities to match this is your spot. The group got plenty of use out of the tennis court, swimming pool, pool table and dart board. Mike the host was great to deal with and in regular contact. Close enough to Nabiac shops and a great country pub at Krambach. Great stay.
