À propos de cet hébergement

Charmant cottage d'époque, lumineux et confortable, avec 2 chambres et un jardin

  • Summary:

Two bedrooms and a sofa bed sleep five in this renovated period cottage at the heart of Titchfield village. Upstairs are a king room, a single room and a shower room with a walk-in rain shower; downstairs are an open-plan kitchen and dining room, a second toilet, and a lounge you can close off with sliding doors. Behind the house is an enclosed courtyard, and dogs are welcome. The village square is about one minute on foot and Hill Head beach about 8 minutes by car, so lazy village days and seaside trips are both easy.

    The Space:

    Sleeping

Bedroom 1 (upstairs): UK king bed (150 cm, similar to a US queen), with plenty of storage.

Bedroom 2 (upstairs): UK single bed (90 cm, close to a US twin).

Lounge (downstairs): a large double sofa bed for two more, behind sliding doors.

Fresh white linen and towels are provided for every guest, with spare pillows and blankets.

    Bathrooms

The upstairs shower room, next to the bedrooms, has a walk-in rain shower. A separate toilet on the ground floor saves a queue when all five are getting ready.

    Kitchen and dining

Oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle, with cookware, a baking sheet, crockery, cutlery and wine glasses. The dining table is in the open-plan kitchen and dining room. Starter tea, coffee and toiletries are waiting for you.

    Living

A light-filled lounge with sofas, a flatscreen TV and a sound system. Leave the sliding doors open and the ground floor becomes one sociable room.

    Outside

A secluded courtyard garden, fully enclosed, with outdoor seating.

    Everyday practicals

Wi-Fi, a washing machine, an iron, a hairdryer, heating, portable fans, hangers and storage for clothes, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.

    Travelling with children

Children and babies are welcome, and there are board games plus children's books and toys. There is no cot or high chair, so please pack a travel cot if you need one.

    Bringing your dog

Up to two dogs are welcome, and a pet fee applies. The enclosed courtyard gives them somewhere to stretch their legs.

    Good to know

Being a period cottage, the rooms are compact, so with every bed in use it feels cosy.

    Guest Access:

You'll have the whole cottage and courtyard to yourselves. Self check-in is by lockbox from 4 pm until 9 pm, and check-out is at 11 am. Parking is free and unrestricted on Church Street, but spaces right by the door fill quickly, so you may need to use free parking elsewhere in the village.

    The Neighborhood:

Church Street is a short, peaceful dead end lined with listed houses, just off The Square in the centre of Titchfield, where you'll find cafés, pubs and a Co-op. On foot from the door: the ruins of Titchfield Abbey, around 14 minutes; the Titchfield Haven nature reserve on the coast, around 32 minutes along the old canal path, a favourite with dog walkers. A short drive takes you to the seafront at Lee-on-the-Solent (11 minutes), the riverside village of Hamble (15) and Whiteley Shopping Centre (8). Guests have also made the cottage their base for Christmas.

    Getting Around:

Fareham railway station is a 6-minute drive, with trains to Portsmouth, Southampton and London. The M27 motorway is a few minutes from the village, Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quays is about 20 minutes away and Southampton about 23.

    Other Things to Note:

ID check and deposit: after booking, the lead guest completes a short ID check and deposit step with our partner SafeGuest. You choose either a Damage Deposit of £350 (your card is saved and nothing is taken up front; it can only be charged for a claim SafeGuest approves after check-out) or SafeGuest's No Deposit fee of £40 (a one-off fee paid to SafeGuest). If you can't use the photo ID check, message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead. Please don't send ID documents by email. Your booking is on the Blue Puffin Stays Booking Terms (Guests) and the House Rules for this home.

    Interaction with Guests:

Our local Blue Puffin Stays team looks after Haven Cottage. Send us a message from your booking any day between 8 am and 8 pm, and we'll help with your arrival until 9 pm. For a genuine emergency during your stay, use the emergency number in your check-in details at any time. Ask us for our favourite village pubs, coastal walks and days out nearby.
