'Very cute renovated building. Just a couple steps away from the Merchentile...which has cute gifts, excellent ice cream and a very nice lady that manages it. Couple steps away to the covered landing over looking the Ohio river. Couple steps from a resturant. The tiny home had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!'

'Minutes from Garden of the Gods and River to River Trail. Temps too hot so we tried to be on trail by 7:30. On dead end road but noisy compared where we live (not bad). Great wildflowers and birds. Loved having a full kitchen. My husband in hot every day.'

'Ive been down to Shawnee a few times for the New Year but this was our first stay (but hopefully not the last) at this great cabin. It was a great location - minutes from Garden of the Gods and close to our other favorite hikes in the Bell Springs area. The cabin itself was clean, with a nice kitchen, 2 nice bathrooms (with plenty of hot water) and bedrooms and fun stuff for the kiddos (my daughter loved the air hockey table). The hot tub was a real treat after a day of hiking in the cold....

'Me and my buddy stayed at this property for our annual Shawnee hike trip. The house was as described and only a short 1 minute drive from the Garden of the Gods outpost and only two miles from the Garden of the Gods entrance. We will definitely stay here again!'

When we were booking this property the title of the listing was "Unity House South," the description did not mention "unit," and it popped up when we filtered our search by "house." I had to call a day before to confirm check in instructions as we have not received them 24 hours in advance as expected. A lovely lady figured it out for us and we got the check in info. She also said she was the one that cleans the property. When we arrived we expexted to stay...

'This house exceeded my expectations. From the amazing decor to the relaxing porch overlooking the river this was definitely a 10/10. A short drive to the Garden of the Gods made this a perfect base for hiking in the eastern Shawnee.'

'We loved our stay at The Southern. The property is amazing - beautiful, spacious, and wonderfully private. It's the perfect place to unplug from a busy life. The house is lovely and we immediately felt right at home. It's comfortable, spacious, and the kitchen has everything a home chef needs. We spent our mornings reading and playing guitar by the pond. Afternoons hiking at one of the many trails a short car ride away. We were sad to leave and definitely plan to return to this gem in the woods....

'I was packing my car getting ready for the 6 hour drive to the rental and received messages on Vrbo that morning that Vrbo had double booked the unit and that the unit was given to the other party. I booked this rental in February 2023 and don’t understand how they never noticed this problem. I was offered a different smaller unit without any adjustment to the cost. I felt like the owner rented it to someone else to get more money due to the eclipse. I am waiting for my refund, supposed to be on...

'It was not prepared for us. There were no towels. The door was not locked and there was no key left for us in the security box. The beds didn't look like the ones showed online. '
