'This was the perfect get away spot! Communication with home owners was spot on with details about stay, check-in, and local attractions. Very clean and comfortable. There was even a tray of teas, snacks, and amenities. My biggest dilemma was deciding whether I wanted to hang out at the pool or the beach. Tough decisions! I highly recommend Mermaid's Retreat!'

'Absolutely loved this little 2 bedroom. Everything was exactly as described and more. Everything from the little goodie tray with extra soaps, teas, waters, etc. to fans (if needed) stowed neatly away under the beds. If we forgot something I can guarantee it was there if we needed it. You'll find everything you need for the beach from coolers to umbrellas and inside everything from seasonings to laundry soap was provided. It was totally unexpected but a pleasant surprise, we had no idea there...

'Comfortable home with lots of space for my husband and I… and for our kids and grandkids who came for a weekend visit. Comfortable beds with nice bedding, several nice bathrooms, comfortable living room area and a great screened in porch. Great kitchen… clean with nice dishes, silverware, pots and pans, glasses, and utensils. Nice sunny dining area which doubled as our work space…. Easy and convenient laundry area….. so nice to have a garage! This home is just a short walk across the street...

'We were very disappointed to find our rental was filthy and poorly maintained. There was much debris on the floors including a contact lens, hair and dirt. The tub shower didn’t drain so when showering water level was ankle deep. Wads of hair washed up out of the drain as well. The bathroom sink did not drain being full of hair too. 'Check in was very simple. The surrounding property, restaurant and pool area was wonderful. The unit itself, upon arrival it had a very musty, old smell. We opened the doors trying to air out. Furnishings are very tired and in need of some updating as well as the appliances. No internet , my husband was trying to work a little one morning and had to take his laptop to the pool area. 'Our family had a great time at the Beach Shack. It’s a safe area, and we enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and local bars and restaurants. There is shopping nearby too. The kitchen is fully stocked and we used the gas grill twice. Rod and Heather were amazing hosts. They promptly answered all of our questions and even brought over some fans and a cooler and beach bag for us to use.
