Glasshouse Hotel Edinburgh teleurstellend.
Fantastisch personeel en goede locatie. Bij aankomst mooie kamer gekregen met binnentuin echter defecte airco. Hierdoor gedowngrade naar kamer met uitzicht op kantorencomplex boven een Australische luidruchtige restaurant/bar.Opklapbed met ingezakte matrassen en gevaarlijke zijranden. Pas na uitvoerig gesprek met manager kregen we een kamer waar we voor betaald hebben. Al met al : 5 Sterren niet waardig, meer 3 sterren allure.

I think the hotel was having a bad day the day we arrived as there was a lack of staff so service was slow plus there was a problem with the key coder which meant it was awkward getting into the room, Overall though everything turned out ok and we enjoyed our stay, food and drink were all very good, breakfast was also very good

Great welcome and superb location
Fantastic stay with a very warm welcome by both front desk staff followed by a tour from Harry the concierge around this lovely hotel and then shown to our room. He was also extremely helpful throughout our stay with recommendations etc It’s unusual meeting such an enthusiastic young person about their Jo and heart-warming, a lovely reflection of Scottish hospitality, thank you. Perfectly placed for the Playhouse Theatre and shopping. Would definitely recommend

A Wonderful Weekend
A wonderful weekend and all staff were so welcoming, professional and friendly. A special mention to Jonathan who makes your stay so memorable. An excellent location for the Edinburgh Playhouse and the St James Quarter. We loved the roof terrace with amazing views and the Snug with the open fire pit. Beautiful rooms and decor throughout. Looking forward to starting with you again.

Nice break
We had a lovely stay, However, I would say the fact they must check the rooms before putting people into them, our shower flooded the bathroom and leaked into the room a bit. Give them they're due they moved us to a different room which was nice however the heating was broke in that room and they had a really noisy heater in its place. £540 was a lot of money to have these snags i feel, one thing i feel that they could update is they are cashless and that they take £100 deposit for the room incase anything happens to it, this i feel you should be made aware of, all in all was a nice break

Everything about this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff are truly wonderful and the room was lovely, really clean and super comfy beds. The minibar was complimentary - a nice touch. All our needs were met very promptly. Look forward to staying here again.

Disappointing.
Location is good. No parking, we had to park in the mall and the overnight stay was expensive. Music could be heard till 1am. Breakfast room is too far and very complicated.

Nice hotel, large rooms but really long walk up and down lots of stairs to get to rooms, not easy with luggage. Breakfast was a disaster and certainly not what you expect for the price you pay. Took an hour and 10 minutes to finish breakfast and waited 25 minutes to just get coffee.

We really enjoyed our stay. we had room just off the bar with terrace. did not find the bar to be noisy at all. staff were very friendly and attentive. did not buy the breakfast as it was expensive and there were so many other options within walking distance.

The service was amazing! The front desk was very helpful in getting taxis and helping us get our luggage to our rooms. Alexander was wonderful showing us around the rooftop garden and recommending The Lookout restaurant at the top of Carlton Hill. Highlight of our trip.

From the moment you walk through the doors to escape the brisk, Scottish air, you are warmly welcomed into what feels like a bubble of ecstatic yet understated luxury. Any worries I had about my choice of accommodation were swiftly whisked away and replaced with a pleasant whisper of tranquillity. A unique juxtaposition between the gothic exterior and sleek, modern interior design. The bold yet serene décor breathes passion and bleeds opulence. Every room and hallway share their stories through striking artworks and beautiful furnishings. The winding halls flow wonderfully, lit with a perfect effortlessness which makes even walking to your room feel like a holiday in itself. The rooms were flawless. My only complaint was that I only stayed there for a single night. Since going home, I have been actively looking for any excuse I can to return to Edinburgh so I can claim another night or two in this marvellous hotel. In terms of location, the Glasshouse, Autograph Collection remains unmatched in the city of Edinburgh. Everything you could possibly need from dinner and drinks to entertainment and travel links are right on your doorstep. From the second we stepped foot inside the hotel we were made to feel not only welcomed, but genuinely at home. The level of care and dedication the staff showed us was beyond compare. If you are looking for an upmarket stay in Edinburgh, the Glasshouse, Autograph Collection shouldn’t be your first choice. It should be your only choice.

One night stay for a theatre trip our room on the 3rd floor was beautiful & had access to the outside seating area. It has lovely views of Calton hill and we were pleasantly surprised how quiet and relaxing it was being in a busy part of the city. Reception very helpful and great service in The Snug. Location perfect for our stay and parking very close by.

Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt und alles ist mühelos zu Fuss erreichbar. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und auch unser Zimmer war sehr schön. Einzig zu bemängeln ist die Sauberkeit. Schon früh morgens war der Boden des Frühstücksraums mit Krümeln übersäht und auch in der Bar waren die Krümel auch nach zwei Tagen noch an Ort und Stelle. Könnte man sicher besser machen aber ansonsten hatten wir eine tolle Zeit im Glasshouse.

Fantastic stay
Amazingly attentive staff. Everyone was so friendly. Room spotless. Bed very comfortable and really did smell fresh. Only thing that I can say is have had better free mini bars in cheaper hotels and the bedside tables had chucks out of them however it did not spoil the stay in any way.

The Glasshouse was really worth it. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The bar had a spectacular whiskey collection with bartenders who knew their whiskey. The location was very central and getting everywhere was simple.

The property is beautiful rooms are excellent but don’t get the breakfast it’s disorganized takes forever and is not very good. Other than the breakfast it’s wonderful. I suggest going around corner for breakfast.

Overall a good stay
Nice reception area with lovely Front of House staff. Large room and bathroom with good Elemis toiletries. Free mini bar, water, soft drinks and beer. Fabulous comfy bed. A little dated furniture wise. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. Bar staff knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a good stay. Ask for a quiet room.

We were disappointed this time at the hotel. We have stayed there before. 1st the room was tired in the sense it does not appear to have been updated for quite some time and is showing signs of wear. Specifically in room 76. Worn furniture, and peeling paint at the door bottoms. The hotel did not notify us of major construction in front of the hotel. I likely would have stayed at another hotel if I know of this in advance. I feel the hotel should let people know that. Also, on our first night, we got to experience a party essentially 20 feet or so from our room. Not only was this loud but the trash can for all the empty bottles was emptied on the trash which sounded like it was at our door. I am understanding of parties but, again, I think the hotel has some responsibility to lets its guest know when they check in as I would not have accepted that room knowing a party or event was going to be so close. All this was disturbing but when one of the party guests was sitting on my patio chair was talking so loud that I had to open the door, go outside, and confront the man asking him to leave. He left. That really pushed me over so I got dressed and went down to speak with Jean-Paul. He was nice but no offer to move us, and in fact, before I even told him about the patio, he asked me " is someone on your patio?" WOW. Sounds like this happens and no one is doing anything to correct it. A wall or plant hedge should be installed on that side so people do use this area.
