« We've been here twice before and everything was excellent. This time it was new owners and sad to say, it wasn't excellent. There were a lot of little dead bugs on the window sill and a long hair on the tub (I have short hair). The lamps by the bed wouldn't light up a closet much less the room. The blinds on the door and window had to be adjusted manually (no twirl stick) and at that, they didn't close completely. They have a lounge/restaurant but it wasn't open. « They should have paid me for staying there. It was last time nd bday weekend. Love and learn I say. Screen on window ripped and felling off blinds in room were broken what was the point of having them up. The room was small barely able to walk around bed. Hot water took long time to come on and didn’t last more then 5 mins. There’s cracks in the wall. Broken chair on patio. I would ask refund but that won’t happen. « We really enjoyed our stay in this 1700s stone house. Williamsburg, Va and the Duke of Gloucester Street has always been one of our favorite locations for it's history and ambivalence. Standing in this house and imagining the history these windows have witnessed is truly staggering. Cannons produced for George Washington's army leaving the forge heading to face the British military is one small segment of it's history. Truly a step back in time.
