The house is gorgeous and spacious. Easy drive to the slopes. Hot tub with mountain views was amazing. Kids enjoyed the ping pong table. Kitchen very disorganized but we worked it out. Only complaint is no starter laundry supplies.

Excellent vacation

There were 4 families with plenty of room for all of us. The place is excellent. This was our second time staying here. The 2 upstair bedrooms are extra large. The kids loved the video console and hot tub. Large kitchen with just about everything you need. Beautiful place. Would highly recommend.

Amazing house for our family

House even better than the pictures. Property is secluded and private. Stayed here for a week with family for my mother's 80th birthday. Comfortable and great amenities. Had everything we needed to relax and enjoy each other when we weren't out on an adventure enjoying the area. Beautiful area and nice driving distance to things to do in either Durango or Silverton. Communication was great. Definitely recommend.

Great family vacation

3 families with a 13yr,8 yr, 4yr and 2 yr. 10 total House was as described. Very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Bed were very comfortable. Very nice TV/game room. Hot tub was great. We really enjoyed our time there. Wasn't ready to leave. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative is the outside needs a LITTLE maintenance.

Absolutely everything we needed, including robes! Everything in the house was wonderful and each bedroom had a fabulous shower. The property is close to skiing, hiking and all the great outdoors has to offer yet feels so very private. We spent an afternoon on ATVs out of Silverton which was an adventure highlight. The house is beautiful and felt more like home than a rental. The furnishings are high end and the attention to detail made our stay so comfortable. It was the perfect place for a girls weekend getaway. The location is absolutely ideal - peaceful, quiet, tucked away in beautiful trees but also an easy drive to adorable downtown Durango and several hiking trails. There are breathtaking views from the back patio as well as through the stunning floor-to-ceiling living room windows and upstairs bedroom balconies. The massive fireplace is so cozy, and star gazing from the hot tub was a highlight of our trip. The large kitchen and dining area are also perfect for groups. We are so grateful for our time there - it is the perfect place to unplug and make memories with your people!

It’s ideal for a family reunion, girls’ weekend, employee or board retreat, or just a peaceful mountain escape. Every detail is so thoughtfully appointed—anything you need for a comfortable stay is already there.We loved how peaceful and quiet it was, yet it’s close to amazing hikes, biking, and in town boutique shopping. We brought bikes into Durango and rode all along the river and got a bite to eat downtown afterward. It was a great way to see Durango. Also, James Ranch is a don't miss farm to table restaurant with an adorable gift shop, right down the road. We also loved The Nugget for meeting up with friends who were also visiting. Truly a joint for gathering!If you’re looking for an exquisite mountain retreat, this is THE place. 5 stars all the way!

Absolute Perfection

Upon entering this stunning retreat, you are met with unbelievable views of the mountains, trees and nature. No other homes are within sight, so you truly feel one with nature. Our first night we received 12" of gorgeous snow which flocked the trees like a winter wonderland. The gigantic stone fireplace crackles and makes the open floor plan cozy. The home is appointed with designer furnishings, gorgeous original artwork and every detail is considered. The linens are the finest, including no fewer than 6 pillow choices per suite. The kitchen is completely outfitted for the finest gourmet with every conceivable pot/pan/dish/tool/dish/server. The dining space easily accommodates a large family or group. The drive to Purgatory is easy and beautiful, as is the trip into Durango for easy lovely meals and boutique shopping. We loved the skiing, especially considering the fact that we had lots of different ability levels. We also had a ball doing the the horse-drawn sleigh ride which was a family-friendly activity 5 minutes down the road. The hot tub was a real treat after days on the slopes. We have stayed in many beautiful homes over our years of traveling, and honestly this one is at the top of the list. Thank you so much for sharing your spectacular home!

Beautiful Home but so dirty

Our personal experience should not reflect poorly on the overall quality of the house itself or the management team. Our visit was January 6-9, 2022. We arrived at the home at 5:30pm, and it was not clean. We called management and they explained that they were having an unusual number of flies that were getting into the homes and were also struggling with the cleaning staff. They were very apologetic and offered to send someone the next day to clean which we declined because we needed to clean it then so we would have a place to sleep plus we didn’t want to vacate the home the next day so someone could come clean again. They helped us locate a vacuum which was so full that it had almost no suction so we had to clean it out in order for it to work. From the number of flies that had accumulated on the floors, in the light fixtures, window seals, behind the beds and under the furniture, it was not cleaned before our arrival. The dryer was full of towels and the washing machine still had wet sheets in it, therefore we had to fold the towels and dry and fold the sheets before we could wash some bedding that had dead flies on them. Not a good way to start when you have to go in and clean a 6000 sq ft home that you were already charged to have cleaned. We were missing a few things and they did send someone to the home the next day with those items and refunded a portion of the cleaning fee that we were charged. Considering the cobwebs and dust in the home and the fact that we had to clean it, we should have been refunded the entire cleaning fee. It was definitely cleaner when we left than when we arrived. But the house is beautiful and incredibly spacious! We had 11 people and ample room to spread out! The hot tub was amazing and so appreciated at the end of the skiing days! The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. The views were breathtaking and the double fireplace was fantastic! We enjoyed the ping pong table and chess as well. We understand that the current pandemic has placed a tremendous strain on maintaining employees but management was already aware of the fly problem and that homes were not being cleaned well. A simple email should have been sent ahead of arrival explaining the situation with the flies and what we may experience while we’re staying so we’re not shocked when we walk in. Repairs needed…

Overall experience was excellent. However, there is a MAJOR flie problem! There were dead flies, living flies, breakdancing flies, and swimming flies. You step on them in the bathroom, they bathe with you in the jacuzzi tub, they land in your cooking, and sometimes dive-bomb you while you’re sleeping. We have pictures and will happily provide if needed. Just ask via email or text. The snow plow was reasonably regular. However, when planning a stay at a home of this magnitude, both in price and quality, it seems like there should be better pre-information regarding this issue to help your tenants plan outings. While I appreciate plenty of hot water, it is either scalding hot or ice cold. It seems that many of the faucets in the bathrooms showers and in the main kitchen sink are in need of repair. Finally, we were unable to use the entire space outside. Due to the snow, the deck area was completely inaccessible. Thank you, Eric and Christa Borchers and Family.

Great Stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
