Wander out to explore your scenic surroundings. Head off on the 6-mile circular Dorsetshire Gap walk, which begins 4 miles away. Venture 8 miles to the famous chalk giant carved into a hillside at Cerne Abbas. Visit the charming market town of Dorchester, 8 miles away, to browse its colourful independent shops and pause in a friendly pub serving local ale. See the National Trust’s Hardy’s House, Max Gate while you are here. Drive further afield to discover the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Head 16.5 miles to the limestone arch of Durdle Door or 17.5 miles to take a cool dip at picturesque Lulworth Cove.

Step inside via the small entrance hall and amble on into the heart of the cottage to discover its friendly lounge. The focal point of this lovely room, which has an abundance of exposed brickwork, is a large inglenook fireplace where you can toss a few logs into the wood burner before choosing a book from the shelf and settling in a comfortable seat. Peruse the channels of the Smart TV in here too, seeking a film that everyone will enjoy watching later on. The airy kitchen/diner is another fabulous social space. Pull back the bi-fold doors to open it right up onto the garden to create seamless indoor/outdoor living. Rustle up delicious meals to enjoy either inside or out. Also situated on the ground floor of this cottage are a useful utility room and WC. As the sun sets over the Dorset countryside, wander up to the first floor of the property, where your lovely super-king-size and twin bedrooms await. Both with Egyptian cotton linen and Hungarian goose-down duvets, a perfect night’s sleep is assured in either room. The twin bedroom can also be made up as a super-king-size if discussed in advance. The family bathroom, which includes a bath with a shower over it, is also on this floor.

Make the most of the glorious garden at this cottage by dining out on the patio and playing games with the children on the lawn at every opportunity. Cook fresh Dorset produce on the charcoal BBQ and dine together on the patio. There is off-road parking here for two cars.
