Cottages in De Forest

'While I understand that the hotel was in remodel mode, i found that it looked rather run down. The sink drain would not open. A maintenance man quickly came and fixed it though, so I appreciated being able to use the sink. Breakfast was not great. At 6:30, the breakfast consisted of 2 bagels, 3 blueberry muffins, some cold cereal, powdered reconstituted eggs. The sausages and potatoes looked fine, but there was nothing to interest kids. 'The staff was friendly and the hotel quiet and clean. It didn't have an elevator however, which caught me off guard. I don't need a handicap room, but my knees do not like stairs. Only negative comment/caution.'

'This was a quite clean and well maintained property and very comfortable for a stay on the outskirts of Madison. We were there for a nearby family visit, so we were not focused on being downtown, but it didn't take long to drive into town. The breakfast was a little bit above average for a corporate hotel and we really appreciated the acceptable coffee available in the lobby 24 hours a day. The room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.'

'The room was real clean & comfortable. Note the room was warm & stuffy when you first walk in. It must have a smart thermostat. It cooled right away. I wished we had time to visit the hot tub. I try to pick a hotel with a hot tub. The breakfast had good variety of choices.'

'This is decent property. Staff was friendly and helpful. But our key needed to be reprogrammed multiple times. Nice decor and updated, only a little worn in spots (cracked tile on bath floor, rust on pool door). Staff was busy but garbage overflowing in multiple spots. Parking lot looks they are expanding as it is not all paved. Pool is short and shallow good for kids not so good for lap swimming or water fitness. Our suite was nice and roomy and bedding was good quality.'

However there was a parking lot light that shinned directly into the room right across the beds. When I turned off the room light at night, it was like daylight in the room, again the worst right across the beds.
