Beautiful spot on the lake and friendly neighbors. A few suggestions to improve future stays. This is a gated community and we weren’t given the gate code prior to check in. We were only given the door access code. There is no cell service in the area so we had to drive until we were able to send an email to the owner and had to wait for the gate code. We also tried to call the owner’s contact phone number, the voice mail was full and we were unable leave a message. This ended up taking valuable time away from our vacation and could have been avoided with better communication from the owner. There wasn’t a hair dryer in the house, no trash cans in the bathrooms, no pillows on some of the bunk beds, no wine glasses or a wine bottle opener. We rented this house because of the no pet policy as we have family members with pet allergies. We then found a lot of short black dog hair on the white master bed comforter. The upstairs towels still had price tags on them which means that none these items had been laundered. The dishwasher didn’t work properly. The refrigerator had not been cleaned out and still had opened and perishable items left from previous guests, to include leftovers in storage bags. The coffee maker had used coffee grounds in the filter and a dirty pot. It definitely made us question the housekeeping standards of the home. The lounge chairs at the dock were rotted and broken. We decided to make the best of it and enjoyed rare time away with our family.
