Our family ( 2 seniors and 4 30-somethings) enjoyed a long weekend in Columbia, PA. The house was very clean and so roomy, with 5 comfortable bedroom and 4 bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked.
There were several places to enjoy each other ‘s company: the living room, the backyard, and the screened porch. The weather was very hot and humid with thunderstorms, so it was Mother Nature’s fault that we couldn’t sit outside as much as we’d hoped.
Columbia itself had a couple of great breweries and casual restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia!
Columbia (and the community across the river) make good use of the riverfront with River Centers, outfitters, kayak put-in spots, a Heritage Center and a boat tour. Very community oriented!
Hershey was a short drive down the road. Chocolate World was an experience!
Amish Country was also nearby and we enjoyed the covered bridges, the bakeries and the quilt shop.
Gettysburg was about an hour’s drive and worth it.
Our hosts were easy to communicate with and very available to us. A perfect spot for our family vacation, with something for everyone!
