The good: great location and view. Main living area and patio was great. Owner was reaponsive when needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the area. Overall a nice property. The bad: lots of issues that I shared with the owner so they can hopefully address them since they live out of state and the property is currently for sale. Patio chair cushions are in poor condition (dry rot and torn), window screens missing from 2 downstairs windows not allowing for them to be opened due to bugs. Cold water not working in downstairs sink. Chairs in backyard damaged due to hail storm (holes in plastic Adirondack chairs). No hangers at all for clothes (we bought and left some). Master closet locked for storage and only portable closet rod provided to hang clothes on (not shown in ads). Backyard overgrown and not really usable with no chairs. Several blinds damaged and missing rods to open. Drawer missing from kitchen cabinet. We cook half the time while on vacation and the cookware was lacking. Glassware was also lacking. Enough to get by, but looks like a mixed bag of yard sale items. Trash bags were too small for kitchen trash can. Any of these could be overlooked, but combined, it was disappointing. It was clean, but the property is not being properly maintained. Place would be 5 star if the maintenance and upkeep was better. FYI, we rent VRBOs all the time so not our first rodeo. That being said, first time in CS so maybe this is the norm there.
We loved our stay at Hummingbird Point. The house was exactly as pictured, and was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Check in and out was easy. Fast communication with the host. There were many houses near us, but the house was positioned in a way that this didn't take away from the secluded feeling of the home. Fantastic property and would stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It offered a wonderful opportunity to experience Colorado's natural beauty and wildlife while remaining conveniently close to town and local attractions such as Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. The home was cozy and exceptionally welcoming. I look forward to staying here again.
