Welcome to the White Peacock! Whether you want a quiet retreat from the big city, a girls getaway, family friendly fun, guys fishing trip or a tranquil place to work this is place for all to enjoy.
Our home is situated directly on the lakefront with private pier, outdoor seating area, fire pit and grill. A place where you can bring your boat and enjoy Indiana's best Bass fishing or simply enjoy kayaking on serene Palestine Lake.
Enjoy this spacious and beautifully decorated 2400 sqft 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home in a forest like setting with 100 ft of lake front. A place to take in the fresh air, enjoy the beautiful garden, and of course the amazing view of the lake.

Main level:
The oversized living room with a cathedral ceiling and plenty of windows allow for an abundance of natural light. Two large comfortable couches in the living room area with 65" wide flat tv is big enough for the whole family to enjoy. This large open space leads into the kitchen and dinning room which are great for entertaining. The kitchen has plenty of utensils, dinnerware, and stainless steel appliances, plenty of cabinet space and a large pantry. The main level also has access to a powder room and large comfortable four seasons room. A lovely decorated three season room has a cozy seating area and dinning area where you can enjoy a relaxing morning coffee or a bottle of wine.

The Master bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom, walk in closet and a seating area for you to relax and enjoy before you start your day. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and access to a large balcony with a seating area. Perfect for taking in the sun or watching the stars at night. The third bedroom located on the lower level has a twin bed and bunk bed (twin and full beds) perfect for kids. Need more sleeping space. We offer two queen size air mattresses for up to 12 guest.

Lower level:
Need more space? Enter the lower level with a secondary family room. It includes a 50" wide flat screen tv, large and comfortable couch, wood burning stove, foosball table, board games, bar, full bathroom and laundry room. The sliding doors lead to the outdoor area. The outdoor patio is ideal for alfresco dining with table, gas grill and seating area.

The house is located in Mentone, Indiana. Mentone is a small town in Indiana’s Kosciusko County. It has about 1,000 residents. You get small town hospitality, plenty of corn and soy fields and of courses eggs. Mentone is a self-proclaimed "Egg Basket of the Midwest" for its commercial egg production. This area is a hidden gem. The home is centrally located too many other attractions such as golfing, winery, breweries, tons of other lakes, hiking trails, bike trails, full sport lakes, beach access (Winona Lake), ferry boat dinner cruise, dinning, shops, grocery stores (Warsaw) and so much more.

Graduation Weekend

My family stayed at this beautiful home last weekend for a Grace College Graduation.Plenty of room for the 8 of us and gathering areas for us to visit. Kitchen well stocked with cooking items ( I do most of the cooking at the homes we stay)Good communication with the owner, easy to get in the home. There is so much to do in nearby Winona Lake, beautiful area!

Great space for a family Thanksgiving

This place met and exceeded our expectations for our family Thanksgiving get together. We had 8 of us total staying ranging from 8-75 and everyone just loved the house. The highlights: The Wifi is fast - you don't usually see that in a rural setting. The ping pong table and foosball table where big hits with all ages. The porch was a great space to enjoy some coffee and reflect while looking out at the lake. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Did I mention the lovely welcome basket that was left for us - amazing! All in all, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Virginia couldn't have been any more accommodating and I can't recommend her and the property enough.

Perfect for a small family gathering

We picked the location so some of the family could attend the Ohio State v Notre Dame football game. We had fans from both sides in the family. No tension though 😀 My daughter and I enjoyed a quiet evening binging a murder mystery on our prime video account which we had no problem connecting to. Kitchen had everything needed. The lake house was very clean and had lots of room to gather or get away from each other. My sister in law is moving to Australia and gave us boxes of old photos and memorabilia which we looked through while sitting in the screened in porch with a great view of the swans in the lake. We will all have good memories of our stay.

Excellent all around.

The house is much bigger and nicer than the pictures show. The bedrooms are very roomy, but the common areas are HUGE! And it's very clean. The porch with the coffee spot was a big hit with our family. And the downstairs bar was cool (we stayed the weekend Jimmy Buffet passed, so the neon "It's 5:00 somewhere" sign was very fitting). Downstairs has a foosball table and a large collection of board games. There's also a full laundry room with utility sink and even a sewing kit. The ping pong table in the garage was also a hit. The kitchen is very well-equipped with tools and pots/pans that are much nicer than other places we have stayed. And there are so many activities for the kids that they didn't even want to watch the giant TVs except when it rained. Paddle boat, kayaks, giant lily pad. The dock was nice for fishing...there's a lot bass along the shore in this lake. There was a tournament the weekend we were there, and the fisherman hit their limit and were using scales to release their lightest catch just a few hours in. They used a lot of frog lures. But no big motors, so was still relaxing. We are trying to figure out when we can make it up again. This place is a hidden gem!

Lakeside getaway

This house is right on the lake with great windows facing it. The house was very clean and well equipped. It must be a good lake for fishing as each day there were several determined fisherman trying their luck. Our group, two retired couples, spent four days reading, binging movies, and reading. It is a good place to relax.

Great space for wedding guests

One of our friends got married this past weekend at the Wooded Knot and since a lot of us were coming from out of state we needed a place to stay. Large enough space for us all to spread out. Loved the sun room and was able to open the windows and read a book one morning. Loved the coffee nook and the space had everything we needed. One suggestion would be to upgrade the mattresses in the bunk bed room. The middle of the mattress is a caved in on the bottom bunk and it felt like I kept rolling to the middle. My friends staying up in the beds upstairs said the mattresses were super firm. Also, bugs were pretty bad even in April because the water is a bit stagnant by the dock, maybe some type of water feature to keep the water flowing? Because of this, we didn't go outside like we had hoped. Also, the house has obviously been renovated and looks great but some of the houses in the neighborhood are a bit run down. Regardless, we had a wonderful stay and I would recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.

Exactly what we needed!

The rental was immaculate! Excellent accommodations, and exactly what our mixed group of friends needed for a long weekend. Beautiful lake, kayaks and paddleboat available for use. Very peaceful and we enjoyed the firepit. We did not cook anything but the kitchen was very well stocked. Virginia kept amazing communication through the whole visit and we hope this property is available for future visits! Thank you Virginia & Ben for sharing your little slice of Indiana paradise with us!
