We were very uncomfortable and inside and outside steps were unsafe, area carpet dirty and not vacuumed under the dining table. Never ever again will I even consider a place like this. Pictures showed were deceiving.

Quaint older home near downtown Cincy

Adorable older home big enough for extended family. Definitely older, but grew up in an old house so we were used to the creaks & unique style. Lots of space for family of 9 & comfortable furniture.

Cincinnati Villa

Neighborhood is sketchy at best. Had to stop a man beating a woman in the street. Gun shots heard one morning. Parking was close, at times because most cars don't leave. Would not recommend walking outdoors. House is old but expected. DIY house and it shows for attempts at upgrades. Staircase had a layer of dust. We had to purchase batteries for the remotes and air fresheners due to musty smell. We purchased towls as we had a larger group and only enough towels for half of us. I wouldn't recommend for families with kids or women staying alone.

Nice house but rough neighborhood

The house was very nice, exactly as described. My only complaint was that the kitchen was under stocked as far as cooking tools. The nonstick was peeling on both skillets, there was no proper spatula to cook with, and there were no large pans or sheets for the oven. However there were plenty of dishes for our crew. The house was one of the nicer ones in the neighborhood and it seemed a bit rough.

A "Quirky" House in an "Uncomfortable" Neighborhood

The house had the promised bedrooms and bathrooms needed for my sisters and me, we noted many concerns that had not been addressed. The exterior cement steps were uneven and tedious to navigate---especially for my senior sisters. Once inside, the furniture was clean and the living room, dining room and kitchen were spacious; however, the landing at the top of the stairs had no lighting until you were AT the top of the steps. That is a safety hazard. We did not find any extra blankets to combat the chill at night and several of the beds did NOT have a top sheet or pillowcases. The kitchen had a wonderful island, but was not fully stocked as it was missing some essential items (measuring cups, serving bowls, etc.). The knife block contained knives that were dull and made the cooking tasks harder to accomplish. The oven was quite dirty with caked on grease. There were no bathmats or cleaning supplies for the bathrooms. The floors throughout the house had soft spots and several separating planks. The outdoor space needed some TLC for the grass and the wood debris. The property appeared to be an attempt to "flip" a house without fully completing tasks needed for the comfort and/or convenience of the potential guests. Overall, while we enjoyed each other’s company and doing the sightseeing activities, the "villa" was disappointing. We were blessed (through much prayer and God's favor) to have an “uneventful” stay in an area that did not feel "safe" at all.

Old Home Charm

The house was great for my family of 6 to each have our own bed. We were in town for a national choir event. The house was updated and well decorated inside. The neighborhood seems a tad sketchy but we did not have any issues. The location was perfect for our quick commute back and forth from downtown Cincinnati. The host was very nice and responded quickly to any questions we had.

Meets your needs

My husband and I stayed here with 2 other couples for a weekend away in Cinci. The place was plenty spacious for the 6 of us and having 3 full baths was very nice. It's an older home so it doesn't distribute heat well in the winter but the owner did a good job putting space heaters around the property for us. We ate out a lot so I can't speak much to the kitchen but I did like the large dining room table for games and the living room area for movies. Referencing a previous review, there are now curtains in all the bathrooms and we didn't see any nails sticking up from the flooring. The flooring is very uneven so be aware if you or a guest have mobility issues. The king bed does indeed have a big slump in the middle. We found minor cleanliness issues like trash under the bed like tissues and water bottles. There were bobby pins found laying around. And the chalk board calendar in the kitchen had random phone numbers on it and had a scheduled poop for Tuesday. We really needed a place to be together, rest our heads at night, be near downtown, and be a reasonable price and for those reasons, our standards were met with this property.

this one's all about the host

Property is accurately listed, old building newly remodeled, has acres of space. Otherwise pretty average, no complaints but no wow factor either. The wow here is the host, kind and courteous, prompt and attentive to any and all details, no matter how trivial. My group couldn't be happier with our stay.

Many good elements, but shoddy workmanship on floors a problem throughout

There was plenty to like at this property -- good furniture and appliances, nice colors and decor, ample seating and sleeping areas. But the shoddy work on floors throughout the house created an array of hazards. And several other issues were frustrating as well. *The plank floor in the dining room appears to have been installed over carpet or overly soft underlayment, and as a result the boards are coming up and coming apart at numerous places, creating a tripping or stubbed toe hazard. The doorway transitions on the second floor from hall to bedroom were coming up in several places, leaving nails poking up to be stepped on. The middle bedroom also has several nails sticking up from the floor right in front of the door we stepped on numerous times. And the carpet on the stairs from floor 2 to floor 3 had small metal spikes in more than a dozen places that our children kept stepping on. I had to find a hard object in the basement to try to hammer these down so we could safely access the third floor. *Two of the three full baths had no curtains on the windows, and the attempt at a privacy tint both didn't cover the full window and wasn't the right type of tint to actually be private -- more just light filtering. We had to tape things over the window to feel comfortable using the bathroom. *A more minor note -- The master suite king bed sags very badly in the middle. Had a sore back every morning as a result. Owners have done like 80% of the work to make this a nice property, it's a shame they didn't finish the job well.
