Carpinteria Bluffs Trail – A fantastic ocean view with an easy 2-mile-long hike that connects Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve and Tar Pits Park. This trail is mostly flat and allows dogs so you can bring your four-legged friends along! The Harbor Seal Sanctuary viewing area is within Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve where you can observe the harbor seals from a safe distance.

Franklin Trail is one of the best hiking trails in the area set in the foothills just north of Carpinteria. The trail starts at the Franklin Trailhead and climbs up steep switchbacks along a wide road. In about 1.7 miles you will reach Frank’s Bench where you can take a rest break and enjoy spectacular views.
Carpinteria is a large cyclist community. Jump on the new Santa Claus Lane bike trail and head up to the popular Santa Claus Lane shopping and restaurant district and beach, then continue on into Summerland.
Take a 5-minute stroll to Amtrak Surfliner, and hop on the train for a fun day-trip to Santa Barbara! Visit Santa Barbara pier - Stearns Warf, or head to The Funk Zone; a hip, artistic neighborhood in downtown Santa Barbara.
