'Lovely family feel to the whole experience '

'We waren hier voor 2 nachten. Schone en gezellige kamer. Bij binnenkomst stond er een pot met verse koekjes en een fles koud water Er lagen veel handige verpakte spulletjes in de kamer zoals zeepjes, oordopjes, make up pads enz. Rustige omgeving. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en de gastdame kwam regelmatig vragen of alles oke was. Al met al een aanrader.'

'Lovely hotel and very helpful staff. Excellent food. Disappointed with the spa facilities, certainly not luxury. Massage rooms were in a hut next to the swimming pool. You had to walk behind the reception desk and through the swimming pool to get there. There was no relaxation room. Enjoyed the massage but for the price I had hoped for some luxury and somewhere to lie down and chill afterwards. Also you have to go through the tiny gym to get to the hot tub and if someone is using the treadmill...

'Our fourth stay at the Metropole in recent years.A privilege to stay in such a unique historic building,with yes a little patina around the edges.If you dont embrace the nostalgia then budget chain's are available.The staff here are so good,as is the breakfast and the pool and spa facility.A great location for roadtrips around mid Wales,and a huge car park.'

'The village was lovely with a petrol station and shop opposite that seemed to stock more items than Harrods. It was like an Aladdins Cave. And beautiful walks all around. Hotel was inexpensive but was as good as many I have stayed in at double the price I paid. Very professionally run, and I was impressed and will definitely stop there again.'

'Great value overnight trip'

'What a nightmare of a place. It felt unclean upon entry to the property. There are filthy steps up to the property…good thing I don’t have a mobility problem…and the paving slab on most steps rocked dangerously. On entry the property felt immediately unclean. We could hear voices in the room ad noticed that there is an unlockable door from the bedroom into an office and we could hear an interview for a member of staff in process. We returned to the pub across the road and the same helpful...

'Nice location, quiet room, mostly clean, pleased to see there was a fan available. We were disappointed that the pub doesn't serve food on a Monday night. We missed breakfast as had to leave before 8am. Decent place to stay, would go again. A little tight for parking but worked out okay.'
