Airport hotel
Finding the hotel on my GPS unit was a problem. The hotel name was changed last September, despite my latest GPS updates, the name was not updated. In case your GPS does not show te hotel name, search for Sky Plaza and you will find it. The hotel is nicely located near Cardiff (CWL) airport. It is more than a walking distance away. The room I was in was good and facilities is what you expect in any UK hotel. The restaurant serves reasonable food for a reasonable price. Drinks are available to accompany your meal. The evening I spent there the was a shortage of staff but everybody was understanding about .
Thanks for staying with us. The hotel is newly opened as of February this year. The previous owners named the hotel Sky Plaza many years ago. The new name (Celtic International Hotel) has been in effect on Google Maps since February this year and unless using google maps on a smartphone some GPS units may not have their own records up to date. We hope you will stay again.

PROs: close to airport, quiet location, low price, nice staff CONs: uncomfortable bed, no elevator, dirty carpet This hotel was good for the price, but it is an older facility that needs to be renovated. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We do clearly advertise on our website that we do not have a lift as we are only a two story hotel. The hotel was perfectly adequate for our requirements, as an overnight stay for a big gig at the Principality Stadium. Our main concern was that the hotel appeared under-staffed. The staff we met were as helpful as they could be, but were trying to manage reception and the bar at a busy check-in time.

Dear Jeanette,Thank you for your review. I can assure you the hotel is definitely not under staffed. Unfortunatley due to the concert everyone decided to arrive earlier than the designated check in time of 2pm ( including yourself as you checked in at 1pm).

Dear Linda,Thank your for your comments. We have had 70 breakfasts that morning and unfortunately everyone came down at the same time. You were told that there would be a wait. The bar was closed due to intoxicated guests trying to get more drinks and due to licensing we have got the right to close the bar.We are clearly advertising that we do not have a lift and as you have stated the hotel has only got a ground floor and a first floor.

The property was spotlessly clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. My only criticism is that the bread in the sandwiches was the cheap,chewy, sliced bread you find at supermarkets.

Although this property is dated and the mattress sagging, it is clean and safe for a single woman traveling alone. The restaurant at the property was delicious and the hotel is super convenient to the Cardiff airport (by taxi 5 minutes). Thanks to the front desk clerk Janet, who actually helped me carry my luggage to the room herself as they don’t have luggage carts. The bartender/waitress (sorry can’t remember her name) was kind and courteous and very professional. I’ll be back to stay here.

Ideal for Cardiff Airport, great overnight stay
Overnight stay before travel to airport following morning. Friendly welcome, even a phone call to the room after arrival to check I was happy with everything. Was tired and a late night arrival /last minute booking so didn't use any restaurant facilities. Was v clean and would stay again.
