Aloha et bienvenue Ă  l'hĂŽtel Pa'amalu, le seul hĂŽtel d'une chambre Ă  Kealakekua Ă  Hawaii. L'Hotel Pa'amalu est un mĂ©lange de PolynĂ©sie, d'IndonĂ©sie et d'AmnĂ©sie. Venez nager dans nos eaux tropicales chaudes ou explorez les ravissantes forĂȘts tropicales humides au sommet de Kilauea, probablement le volcan le plus actif de la plante. Planifiez votre journĂ©e en vous prĂ©lassant sur la vĂ©randa, rĂ©confortĂ©s par la douce brise des vents alizĂ©s.
Vous commencerez votre journĂ©e Ă  5 minutes de la baie historique de Kealakekua, sur les pentes sous le vent du Mauna Loa, sur l’üle de Hawaii. Il fait chaud, ensoleillĂ© et doux toute l’annĂ©e, oui toute l’annĂ©e.
HĂŽtel Pa'amalu n'est pas vraiment un hĂŽtel, j'ai juste pensĂ© que c'Ă©tait un nom accrocheur. Mon pĂšre, mes amis et moi avons construit cette petite maison il y a quelques annĂ©es. Cependant, je le dĂ©crirais comme un petit cottage de livres d’histoires, vous souhaitant la bienvenue pour Ă©crire votre propre chapitre. Nous sommes installĂ©s juste en haut d'un vieux village de pĂȘcheurs hawaĂŻen appelĂ© Keei. Nous sommes entourĂ©s de nombreuses variĂ©tĂ©s de mangues bananes et d’autres surprises horticoles.
L'Hotel Pa'amalu est un lieu de divertissement, de retraite, d'évasion romantique ou un bref intermÚde lors de vos traversées de nos magnifiques ßles.

The location is great as long as you have a car for the short trips to town and the ocean. Check in was easy, just keep in touch and it's easy.The fresh mangoes and abundant colorful bird activity were highlights. Even though not in the listing, there were a variety of snorkel gear in good shape for use, along with chairs and beach towels. There's also a blender for use in making fruity rum drinks (or others as you wish).The screened deck area was where we spent most of our time watching the wildlife and being more in nature. The owner is responsive to reports of any issues, and we enjoyed talking to him. Be sure to set your expectations accordingly. This isn't some fancy resort where everything is new and shiny. There is plenty of "character" in the cottage, from the many different light switches, to eclectic furniture and nick knacks. It's a small farm cottage, so enjoy it for being just that!With this in mind, we really enjoyed our time here and are looking forward to a time when we can return.

Great home base for visits to Honaunau and Kealakekua Bay, or just hanging out on the spacious lanai enjoying the countryside quiet, birdsong, and transforming clouds over the not-so-distant ocean. All we needed was provided. We loved the geckos!

Hotel Pa’amalu is a rustic, beautiful place to stay and Kaimalu is a wonderful host. The spot is remote, allowing for a peaceful time to listen to birdsong and look out to the ocean view. The home itself is beautifully designed, as the open air flow from the ocean breeze was enough to keep us cool.,I cannot get over how this place was perfect for a relaxing getaway that’s off the beaten path. If you don’t mind the occasional gecko and you’re looking for a sign as to where to stay on the Big Island, this is it.

This little place has everything you could wish for in south Kona. Beautiful views of the ocean; you can walk to down Napo’opo’o Road to the water (about 3/4 mi - the road has no shoulder, but it is doable); and array of vegetation on site including mango trees, orchids, palm trees, etc - we had the best oranges picked right off the tree. The building itself is very open with a screened-in lanai, where you can watch the sun set, and a fountain just outside that attracts all sorts of birds. It has an islandy vibe overall, but if you don’t like sharing space with geckos, this is not the place for you. The bed is pretty firm, fyi. Kai is a great, laid-back host. We found the place very relaxing and hope we can come back again!

We had a wonderful stay at the cozy cabin. We enjoyed the geckos and beautiful birds, and the lovely warm breezes and views were stunning. There was plenty of beach equipment to use and a fully-functional kitchen. Charles was hospitable and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend this quaint and lovely cabin.

This is a peaceful, private setting since the farm isn't being intensively. We especially enjoyed sitting on the screened back deck watching a variety of birds frolic in the continuously running water feature.

If you are looking to get away and off the beaten path, a bit, you will be hard pressed to find a better spot so close to the bay and 2 steps while staying among mango orchards. Great atmosphere and great host.

This small cottage had a great screen porch and a view of the ocean in the distance. It was very convenient to City of Refuge and Painted Church. It was not fancy but charming and nice in an old school way. Cozy and good for a couple.

Overall a bit conflicted about our stay. Absolutely loved the area, the beauty, tranquility and setting. The place is definitely cool with unlimited potential. The interior needs a bit of tightening up. A few things need to be replaced or worked on, screws tightened, kitchen floorboards replaced, sealant applied, etc
. I think it would’ve been helpful to get a better idea beforehand of a few things. I would have liked to know what was jumping on the roof and scratching around outside. Made it a bit difficult to sleep initially. The host is super nice and accommodating. Absolutely stunning setting!

This property is in a gorgeous location, with incredible sunset views. Tucked away in a very peaceful and safe location of Captain Cook
 close but far indeed. Kai is a phenomenal host and a great human and we look forward to the next time we come to the Big Island and can Cool Da Heels.

This was our second time staying at Cool Da Heels and was just as lovely as our previous stay. Immaculate, cozy, tastefully decorated and peaceful, it provided an ideal home base location to explore the southern part of Hawaii Island as well as Volcanoes National Park. It's only 30 minutes to the restaurants and shops of Kona and the beautiful southern beaches of the Kohala coast. While the bathroom is remodeled with an open shower, the kitchen is a bit dated, but fully functional and well appointed. There's no AC but the trade winds and a ceiling fan are sufficient. The owner is responsive yet unobtrusive and checkin/checkout was a breeze. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

For those wanting a more authentic, calm & beautiful place to base your big island stay, this cottage is highly recommended. Good location- like the title says, “close but far”- close enough to Kona for dining/shopping, etc, but feels far away from the crowds. Very quiet & private. Loved waking to birds singing & frolicking in the fountain. Sunsets from the screened lanai were amazing . We had everything we needed for a 10 night stay. Wonderful host, too!

The property was wonderful - view of the ocean and the sunsets, bird bath with tons of birds taking advantage, and everything we needed to be comfortable. Host was easy to reach and ready to help. We spent most of our time on the lanai. Great way to visit the Big Island!
