Villa Vista is an enchanting home away from home. One of the most remarkable things about the villa is its location on the cliff above the bay. This Mediterranean style villa overlooks the gorgeous Hodges Bay and is nestled amid the windswept fauna of Point Dubique on the east coast of Dominica. As its name suggests, it is a house of panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean, Hodges Bay and the majestic mountain peaks of Morne Trois Piton and Morn Diablotin. Atlantic breezes refresh and inspire, making this villa ideal for relaxation. In addition to the captivating views, you will delight in the pleasant sounds of the sea surf, seagulls, and pelicans as well as the soothing melodies of the revitalizing winds that bless the villa. There is a private driveway with off-street parking right at the villa's front door. It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and shops. It is only 20 minutes from Melville Hall airport to the south. "Pirates of the Caribbean" was filmed at several nearby locations.
This picturesque Villa Vista is comprised of two floors, the top floor housing the master bedroom and spa facilities. The upstairs master bedroom suite houses a king-sized bamboo bed, a couch and reading area, as well as a master bath with bidet. There is a separate room with the hot tub (which also has a terrific view). Finally, there is a large private balcony with a wonderful view of the sea and the mountains. The ground floor has one and a half bathrooms and two bedrooms: a Queen-sized bed in one and two twin beds in the other. The bedroom with the queen bed has direct access to the terrace. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets, if desired.
The kitchen is on the ground floor and is fully equipped and outfitted to continue that home away from home experience. It comes complete with refrigerator, microwave, stove with oven, coffeemaker, and toaster. The living room is cozy with its flat screen television to keep you entertained. You can view a selection of local or foreign channels or just gaze at the beautiful scenery from this comfort zone. From the living room you look out directly on the terrace and swimming pool. You may wish to recline on one of the lounge chairs on the open terrace overlooking the water or swim in the revitalizing "infinity" pool while enjoying a good rum punch. There is a wifi internet system throughout.
If you like keeping fit, there is an invigorating walk down about 300 meters to the beach where you can swim, snorkel, fish or just sit quietly watching the river meet the waves rolling in.
If you visit during the full moon, you will be treated to the amazing sight of the moon rising above the bay.
Villa Vista is private enough for you to forget the world outside if you want, as it seems to have a magical effect on all who enter. But from here, it is easy access to Calibishie, where you can find quaint houses, small grocery stores and shops (including a mini wine shop), and several wonderful restaurants. Calibishie is a quiet fishing village with warm, friendly people only too happy to help you experience your home away from home. It is also the home of Red Rocks, a popular visit along the coast by Calibishie. This location is also ideally situated to explore all that the north of Dominica has to offer, including such things around Portsmouth as Indian River and Cabrits National Park.
At Villa Vista we also offer premier guest support services. Our local property manager can attend to any needs you may have, and can arrange for such things as maid services, chef services, prepared meal deliveries, or help in arranging tours or transportation. We can also provide for pick-up at the airport and transportation to the villa.
