We had a fantastic time. Margot and John were wonderful hosts and my 5 yr old loved helping out with the chores. The cabin is as described and the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked. Margot dropped off her homemade goat cheese and bread and it was a real treat. We absolutely plan to return again next year!
RELAXING PEACEFUL BEAUTIFUL REVIVEDenjoyed everything about the small cabin and scenery Easy to cumminicate withthe host tour of workung garm if you chooseThaanks again johnand Margo
Itâs a lovely ranch, the property is stunning and the hosts were kind enough to show us around. It had everything you need, my only caution would be that the beds in the room with the bunk were definitely not made for two adults
Stayed overnight on the way from northern Indiana into West Virginia to do a little exploring around Hocking Hills. Great, quiet little place to stay and relax.
Beautiful property that's in a convenient location for all Hocking Hills activities. Gracious hosts who provided excellent recommendations and yummy chocolates! We would definitely stay here again.
The small house where we stayed was humble, clean, and nicely decorated with great books on the shelves. It was lovely to be by a pasture with wide skies and green rolling hills all around. At night we opened the windows to hear the peepers and farm animals quietly living alongside us. Margot and John were gracious hosts. We loved joining Margot for morning chores and meeting all the animals, especially the dogs.
Margot and John were incredibly kind and welcoming. My partner and I stayed over the weekend, and got welcomed with brownies and shown around the farm for chores. Completely optional but completely worth it to see the animals and get to know both of them! We had our car get stuck due to weather at the end of our stay, and they offered us food and helped us move our car. Incredible kindness and we will be back!
Perfect cozy cabin for our short vacay after Christmas! Super clean, perfectly situated for enjoying Lake Hope State Park, the Lake Hope Furnace and other local attractions. Lots of board games, books, a fire pit, a grill and a well stocked kitchen. Will definitely return!
John and Margot have a jewel of a cabin and are wonderful people. The cabin is cozy, the animals are adorable, and getting to be part of the help even in freezing weather was a treat for me and the family. Couldnt have asked for anything better, it was perfect. If you get the chance do yourself a favor and come visit the ranch!
We enjoyed being out in the country! The cabin was nice sized and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to leave after the first night.
Margot and her husband's property was clean, they were kind, and we loved all the books and games they had! This is the perfect little getaway. Thank you all for having us!
We had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay. John and Margot were excellent and gracious hosts! My daughter and I chose to help with morning chores so we got to be up close to the animals which was great! They taught us a lot about the animals. The cabin was clean and comfortable. I definitely recommend staying here. We will most certainly stay here again when we are down that way.
We loved our stay at Homecoming. The property owners John and Margot were lovely! They took us out to see the cattle and showed us around the property. We were also able to assist and watch feeding the animals the morning of our last day. They also left us a sweet treat in the cabin when we arrived. The property is easily accessible on the corner of two main roads and a quiet retreat. We would definitely stay here again!
The cabin was cozy. The property was beautiful and relaxing. The property owners are amazing people. I highly recommend staying here. Even just for a night to get out of the city.
Cute little cabin on a gated farm in a quiet location. It had a picnic table and propane grill we used daily. One of our favorite things to do was to visit around the camp fire nightly and visit with friends. Daily we talked to the owners, that lived next door. They were very friendly and helpful with information on the area. Great location for hiking all the Hocking Hills trails.
A couple of us had a weekend girls trip to Hocking Hills and stayed here. The 2 bedroom place is very cozy and well equipped. The host is charming. We hope to return there on a future visit.
Was only at the property overnight because most of our time was spent at an off property event. Cabin was clean and the host and hostess were very nice. Loved the loaf of bread she gave us from a local bakery.
We had a great stay at the cabin. Margot was extremely friendly and brought over some pears fresh picked from her pear tree...enough to bring a few home. The cabin was clean and exactly like the pictures. We got to see horses and goats, but the cows were in a different pasture. We did get to wake up at 5am when the smoke alarm went off. Still not sure why, but it got us up and ready for a day of hiking and driving home.
The site was beautiful; very homey. The hosts so kind and accommodating. This was our home away from home while we explored hiking hills and my only wish was that we had been able to stay longer! While we were grilling the horses came out and were just on the other side of the fence; the girls had a blast watching the animals and learning about the farm.
This was EXACTLY what we needed for a place to relax and sleep in between hiking. The ranch is beautiful, Margot and John were absolutely lovely. The kids havenât stopped talking about getting to see all the animals.
We couldn't be happier with our stay. Everything was ready for us. Margot and John were attentive and gracious. A week long stay would have been perfect, but life sometimes dictates what you can and can't do. With that said, our two day stay was a delight. Thank you Margot and John.
