« A lovely get away from it all pub with a great breakfast every morning and a good menu for the evening. A short drive from the village of Hartington. »

« Loved the room. Very nice staff, excellent local walks. Dinner was pretty good. Good breakfast and packed lunch included in the price, excellent value. Dog friendly, though you have to eat in a quirky little greenhouse. EV charging on site was handy. »

« Midweek trip to Buxton and surrounding area. Host, Louise was extremely helpful before during and after our stay. The rooms are modern, well equipped and very comfortable for short stays. The property is very well located for public transport and just a short walk to Buxton attractions We would highly recommend »

« The house had a welcoming feel, breakfast was delicious (small bowl of fruit was very generous - no idea what size the large one would be!). And in the lounge there's a beautiful Blüthner grand piano, which for me was the icing on the cake. Or even the cake itself... »

« Un séjour d'une nuit pour le réveillon du jour de l'An, dans les chambres situées au dessus d'un des quelques pubs du village aurait pu être bruyant, mais non, elles sont bien situées dans une arrière cour. »

« The perfect location for a stay in the Peak District, with arguably the best view from a pub garden anywhere in the UK? Perfect for a family of four, with all rooms well furnished and a generous kitchen and lounge set up. Great for self-catering, but the food in the pub downstairs was good stuff. Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are all inside a 20-minute drive, and you can simply pop hiking boots on and start over the back fence of the beer garden for a good walk. « An excellent property, very homely, cosy and welcoming. Would definitely return. Found laundry basket, spare mattress covers and oven gloves in main bedroom. Not a great problem at all, but think these items were inadvertently left at the changeover clean. But this is not an important criticism - the property was wonderful. »
