'Check in was at 4:00. We arrived at 2:00 and was told our room was not ready and that they would call us when it was. We arrived back at 3:30 and it was ready, which was good, but we never received a call. The common areas are very clean and nice. There are cookies in the afternoon and coffee, tea and hot chocolate are always available. 'This hotel with a history offers great surroundings near Saranac lake, spacious, modern and clean family rooms, and friendly staff for a reasonable price. During our 3 week trip in July through north east of USA and Canada we planned to stay here for 2 nights but decided to stay an extra night. We were very lucky with the weather ( 75 -82 F) but heard the winter period lasts long and is tough.'

'We had a wonderful weekend at the Eastwind- it’s a great independent property with very cute, uniquely decorated rooms. We particularly enjoyed the nightly fire pit where we could meet other travelers and make s’mores with the provided kits. The coffee in the morning also provided a great opportunity to gather recommendations for the day from the staff and other travelers. 'A great location with wonderful contactless service. Easy to get in our room with door code and lobby/kitchen/sitting room area is open 24hours. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds, soft fluffy towels, hot water and good water pressure. We chose the larger room with 2 beds and kitchenette. Highly recommend.'
