We booked to stay at The President Hotel for 2 nights but our room was so cold the whole time we were there we stayed for only one night. We checked in, the reception guy we later found out was Nathan wasn't at all interested or welcoming, just after 3pm got to our room and it was freezing, the window would not fully close and temp outside was around freezing and it honestly was not any warmer in the room. The hotel heating wasn't on and the little portable radiator in the room did not work. I returned to reception with said radiator explained it didn't work which he didn't believe until he plugged it in, then said he'll get another one, about 5pm we went down again and he said the hotel heating will be on shortly We asked him 4 or 5 times but he just wasn't interested We got in bed which had a crevice down the middle so I basically 'slept' on the base. The radiator in room didn't seem very hot, hotel heating went off about midnight and once again the temperature in room plummeted we couldn't get comfortable so not much sleep because it was so cold. In morning I went and explained to new reception guy and once again he said he'd try find a heater and that the heating will be on soon, it never came on all day! We went out for day but on our way out Nathan was cleaning rooms so I got him in our room so he could see the window and bed and feel the cold, he shrugged said not his problem as he not on reception. When we got back to hotel room still freezing so we decided to leave

Im very disappointed because i specifically booked this hotel because of the booking saying the room had a deep soakimg bath, im pregnant and really looked forward to it. When we got there, it wasnt a bath, it was a wet room with a shower. Im very disappointed and want a refund

Lovely friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. Nathan on the reception was all ways helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was good. The hotel was warm and comfortable. It’s a little dated but still a nice hotel not far from the local amenities and there is a tram stop across the road.

The room was very small and basic,certainly not a sea view.I have mobility issues,and heart problems between the small lift and the narrow corridors it was not disabled friendly.It certainly is not a 3 star.The staff were friendly enough especially the dining room staff.The way it was advertised is not what it is like,I don’t know what picture that was taken of the room it certainly wasn’t ours.We won’t be going back.

Upgraded to the Presidential Suite. Lovely room with a jacuzzi bath. Only negative was no shower, and no fridge. Only there a weekend though, so no issues really. Breakfast was amazing, as was the staff

Breakfast and Dinner menus were very good value.Our room had a dirty used mug that had blackcurrant juice stains at the bottom.No clean mugs but once i complaibed the young man on reception brought two clean ones and apologised.He was doing so many different jobs ..reception, bar and even housekeeping and trymied his best to sort out the many problems/ guests he seemed to be having to deal with.Evidently our room hadnt been checked! But the beds were comfortable and bedding was clean as were the towels The mirrors in the room on the wardrobe were dirty. The staff in dining room were helpful and welcoming. This is not the Ritz and was cheap, but location was great..tram stop and bus stop right outside and the views right on the seafront rescued this place! With a little more effort to tge deyails of cleanliness i woukd have given this a higher rating. I stayed here before..paid extra for a seaview room and the difference was immense. Dont go for standard room..The seaview one is worth the extra. Disappoibted this tine so not sure i would recommend or book again. A shame really as rhe staff were lovely. Hygiene lets it down for me.

Do not stay here. Worst hotel i’ve ever stayed in. Absolutely filthy ! Dirty soiled underwear left in the bathroom, stains on towels and bedding. One of the twin beds was smaller and lower than a normal size single bed, complete with springs poking out . Carpet covered in bits not been hoovered, Smears down insides of windows, Bathroom floor filthy clearly not been cleaned, pubic hairs around sink area. Thick dust on the skirting boards . No tea and coffee in the room, just a kettle you had to stand on a bin to be able to plug it in as wouldn’t reach wall socket , the bin had a cracked lid. Tea and coffee stains all over the wall. No heating in the room, radiator not working, portable radiator also not working. So room was freezing cold. Paint from walks all chipped off and left over the carpet. Main light not working in bedroom. Curtain hanging off the rails. Corridor outside our room smelt of wet dog. The list could go on and on. Staff on reception very unhelpful, promised to sort the room, nothing was done, even though we had been to complain 3 times !!! Shocking will never stay there again !!

The hotel looked like it had not been updated since the 80's. All the bathroom fittings had rust on them and looks bad. The staff were very nice when you actually found them but that was not easy. Parking was a nightmare. One of the windows would not close properly. But the room and bed was clean and they do allow dogs for a fee.We did not eat breakfast in the hotel.

The hotel itself is very run down in areas . Our room was awful !! Took the grandkids for one night , the bedding was clean but everything else was really bad !! No tea or coffee , no loo roll and the door didnt even shut on the bathroom !! All in all a 3 out of 10 , would never stay here again 😡

The room was neglected. The room needed hoovering, and there were crumbs on the bed. The toilet was black and was in desperate need of someone actually cleaning it! There was a kettle and mug, but no tea/coffee/sugar/milk to put in it. The TV remote, was very sticky and needed a clean. However, the Receptionist was lovely and very helpful. The maitre de at breakfast was pleasant and the breakfast was good.

The welcome was not acceptable. We asked for coffee told yes in the bar but no one to serve in the bar for coffee hence no coffee. We could not have any evening meal as there was no food on the premises would need to speak to chef to see if he would do evening meals. Coffee shop was closed,no evenings meals available, no entertainment, dogs in the rooms barking all night, no drawers in rooms, no soap,no shower gel.tv not working .this is the worst hotel we have stayed in, was that bad we had to leave a day earlier. The room was disgusting i would not recommend this to stay at anytime. This was the complete waste of money our stay was really bad .

The Staff here were really friendly and helpful. Its not a huge hotel but it is clean, the rooms are cosy, clean, warm, quiet and Dogs are most definitely welcome here. It is in the perfect location directly across from the beach with a lovely pub up the road serving food also dog friendly. This is definitely the perfect spot for people who are looking for a nice quiet place to rest their heads and take a break from all the activities outside just don't come here expecting 5 star quality and a lively atmosphere and you will not be disappointed as this is a down to earth, wholesome, dog friendly hotel.

The room flooring creeked everytime you walked vent on wall dirty. Only one socket in the room. Only one beside light worked. Wardrobe drawer broken and handle on dressing table. Bathroom floor very uneven. Soap dish needed replaced. Open space behind the sink. The wall light didn't work. Shower tiles required regrounting. Reception was not regularly maned. Never saw staff. No bin in the bathroom for sanitory products. Very noisy hotel. Would not recommend or return.

Hotel is in an excellent location. All staff are very friendly and helpful. I travel on my own, I feel safe in this hotel, would not even consider staying anywhere else.
