The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless and large. The breakfast buffet has lots of options with one or two staff members constantly replenishing the containers and responding to your requests. One morning while we were there they even made individual smoothies to order. It's a block from Five Points so there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance. Perfect place to stay if you're in town to see the Civil Rights era museums -- all are about a mile or two away and there's free or cheap metered parking near them.

I wish I read the reviews more carefully upon booking. Parking is super sketchy here and across the street. What’s worse is the staff called it “VIP” parking but it’s just a public parking lot where homeless people sleep. I had my baby with me and felt unsafe parking there and walking to and from the hotel. We checked out immediately and didn’t even bother staying. I would never want to put my child in a situation like that. I would never recommend this hotel unless you don’t have a car and don’t have to worry about the transportation.

This was a good location for a downtown space. I was concerned about parking but they have a generously sized parking lot behind the hotel with a safe walkway into the building. Not sure that it should be an extra charge, though. Breakfast was very good. I would have appreciated coffee throughout the day or at least a water jug with better tasting water than what comes through the tap. A great stay and loved having the refrigerator to keep our food in for our next stop.

Nice property, great front desk service, the room was clean, but the parking was not accommodating. We checked in late and found out they don’t have the same number parks as rooms. We had to park in another parking garage across the street with difficult directions to follow & the cost was $25 per night. Oh and had to pay to park at the hotel the next day for a cost of $15 BUT was given a $10 voucher to spend at the snack shop inside of the hotel. I did also get a free late check out which was very nice considering we did check in late and was inconvenienced. Oh forgot to mention that the day of check out, the housekeeper let herself in while we were fresh out of the shower Without first knocking. So beware, lock the top lock so this won’t happen to you. She did apologize and all in all, it was a nice place to stay.

I’ve stayed at this property over 50 nights in the last 6 months. On one night it was raining ant it rained into my room. It started about 11pm and continued into the morning. I wasn’t able to get another room from them until the next morning. They refused to comp - refund - give Credit - nothing for the room. They said they would see what they could do and they did nothing.

The staff was excellent and the hotel was nice and clean. The area was to be expected for downtown. Parking is offsite so not convenient, but otherwise no complaints.

Property was very nice and clean. Staff was very polite and helpful. A lot of bars around so was very loud late into the night (stayed on a Saturday. If they ask you to park at the garage across the street, I would insist on parking on property. If that’s not possible, park your car during the day and Uber wherever you need to go. We went to a concert and when we came back around midnight the garage was full. Saw some, questionable activities while trying to park in this garage. Ended up having to find parking elsewhere.

NO PARKING ON SITE! Had to park around the corner in public parking garage for $25 a day. Room was fantastic, but not enough parking was ver inconvenient that’s why the overall stay was average

Front desk staff was great and very kind. Helpful with area information and happy. However, the nonsmoking room smelled like an ashtray and the sofa was covered was mysterious body fluid stains. Disgusting. We had to park in a parking garage across the street which is not a big deal except the security cameras were covered with spray paint. Not a safe feeling environment or situation. I would not recommend.

The hotel was great, I loved the safety of having to have a room key to enter the building after a certain hour and having to have a room key to enter and use the elevator. I would’ve given a perfect score but the parking was across the road in a public parking deck. The charge was $25 per night to park. The walk to the hotel at night made me feel really uneasy. You walk down an alley where there are clubs then cross the street to the hotel. When paying the price of the hotel, parking shouldn’t be off the premises nor should it cost $25 per night. The staff was wonderful. Very polite. The room was spacious and great for anyone traveling with children.

Very comfortable bed and great living/ kitchen area. I enjoyed the coffee maker with all the fixings! Bathroom very clean and fluffy towels! Breakfast in the morning had many options, ranging from cereals and muffins to fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, waffles as well as eggs, sausage, hash browns and gravy for the biscuits. Haven’t used the pool, but saw other people in it. The only thing they should charge is offer free parking. Paying 15$ a night extra is a lot in a town like Birmingham, this is not LA.

Although this property is right next to the hospital I felt pretty safe. There’s lots of homeless and I don’t carry cash. But I walked to where I wanted to eat. I enjoyed my stay and I loved my bed!

Very nice hotel. Quieter than expected for the downtown location. Many near by restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and handled a situation with a homeless man entering the lobby very respectfully. The shuttle the provided was a nice bonus

Front desk staff was very nice. Breakfast was light but very good! Location was good and close to the university. The sofa in the room reeked of urine. It was so bad that after my niece sat on it she had to change clothes!!! We were supposed to have parking available but we were told that their garage was full so we had to park in the public garage a block or so away.

While this hotel may not look that grand on the outside, my suite room was probably one of the best rooms I've stayed in. It was roomy, laid out well and well-stocked.
