'Gezien het hotel wat vergane glorie uitstraalde was de ontvangst prima, Stephane is een vriendelijke man, die alles duidelijk uitlegde. Onze kamer was prima, fijne bedden en heerlijk openslaande deuren aan een Frans balkon. Helaas is t restaurant dicht in t weekend maar we hebben lekker gegeten in een restaurant 10 min lopen verderop. De tuin van t hotel was ook leuk, zwembad wat nog in gebruik was, ligstoelen en een groot terras waar je zou kunnen eten. Wij hebben genoten, prima als kort...

The recommended caterers are ok. Book the times 30 minutes earlier to ensure it's on time. And make sure ALL details are in writing and explored, or you may be disappointed.'

'The most wonderful hosts and idyllic location. Beautiful huge garden, always plenty going on in what seemed like a very small town. Stephen and Michaela were so warm and welcoming and were very knowledgeable on the local area with some fabulous recommendations for food and things to do nearby. Great facilities and very clean house, even had an air fryer which is a proper luxury in France! There is so much in and around Confolens if you’re willing to look for it! Would stay again in a heart beat.'

'What a lovely gite this is. A hidden gem in rural Charente, and we absolutely loved our stay here at Chocolate Box Cottage. It is a beautiful spot. And if you want a quiet location, this is it.
