It had only just been renovated and a nail was protruding from under the carpet which I managed to walk on and gashed my foot. Told the manager whilst eating dinner downstairs in the pub. He thanked me for alerting home to the fact. He went to our room with a hammer to remove the danger. Thought it might have been a nice gesture to have said can I get you two a drink on the house. 'Room was very small with creaky floors and very noisy overall. Elm balcony room has a shared balcony which wasn’t specified so I had people talking and hanging outside my room and could see inside my room. This is expensive hotel and I would have expected better rooms but given it’s and old building I guess that’s too be expected. Overpriced for what it is. Staff and service were excellent so that was positive. '

'Lovely location. Ground floor Queen room extremely small - no room for luggage as the bed took up almost the whole room. Bathroom only suitable for one person at a time. Overlooked the buggy garage so had to keep the blind closed. Would definitely request and pay for a larger room if we ever stayed again. Staff were friendly though and the terrace for meals overlooking the golf course was beautiful. '

'The recent renovations are the reason we choose for this stay. The lobby, restaurant are all beautifully done. We stayed in a freshly renovated suite. Rooms are very large and has a nice outlook of trees. We were met at entrance by welcoming staff who showed us the hotel and room. But as a 5 star hotel, there are lots of things below our expectations. On the 2nd day of our stay, we hang the label to clean the room in the morning.
