This property was exceptional. The views from the deck were amazing. The bedrooms were on various levels, and were private. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Everything was modern. The owners were good with communication. Note: This property might be challenging for someone who has difficulty climbing stairs. We did not have an issue. The property is around 20 min from town and is very secluded. It is a little slice of heaven. Highly recommend!

This home exceeded our expectations! The interior was spotless and included everything that we needed for our stay. The exterior was well maintained with breathtaking lake views. We found the hosts to be accommodating with our special needs and requests. My family will tell you that I am hard to please, but these hosts didn't miss a beat. Beaver island

We had a great time at this amazing property. The setting , on Lake Michigan, was incredibly beautiful. The accommodations fit our group very well, with big gathering places, a beautiful porch and many outdoor and indoor diversions. We did not need anything from our hosts( everything we needed/wanted was there😊), but they were very attentive in communications.

An amazing stay!

What a wonderful week on Beaver Island! We were first-time visitors to the island and were not sure what to expect, and we loved our time. The house was perfect...very clean and enough space to host a large family gathering. We had ages from 2-70, and everyone was comfortable. We spent so much time on the deck looking out over the water. There is endless room to explore around the property. The kayaks were an amazing addition to take out to explore & swim. The town was charming and had everything you needed. Many thanks to the hosts, as this was exactly the getaway our family needed.

Awesome Fall stay!

We all really enjoyed the house! Plenty of space for our family to spread out. We all could easily come together for food and games. Enjoyed fires outside and walking on the beach. Kids enjoyed sightseeing “the big rock”. They also played with some toys at the house and picked out books to read. We loved the sunsets at the house each night too!

Beach, Sunsets, and Stars!

The house was lovely! It cannot be overrated how beautiful the sunsets were. And the stars at night! We enjoyed the kayaks. The listing states life vests for two adults, but they had life vests in every size imaginable. We didn’t need to bring our own toys along - there were plenty of toys and kids’ books available!

Great family getaway spot

Very nice home that was perfect for a multi generational family get together. Very peaceful location with a large deck to view the awesome Lake Michigan sunsets. The kitchen was fantastic and stocked with all the cookware and utensils you would ever need. The island itself is such a laid back unique place and it was great to be back on it once again. We are home now for several days and I still find myself unconsciously giving the Beaver Island wave to passing drivers. Thanks again Jon and Carolyn for sharing your property!

Family Vacation 2023

We loved this property. If you are looking for isolation and natural beauty, look no further. Our family just wanted to hang together for a week with no specific agenda. Beaver Island and this property fit this need perfectly. We spent days at the beach, both on kayaks and in the sand. We built fires at night right on the beach. During our trips to the town, we always found some water activity to keep us entertained. Weather was perfect and days were long.

Green Woods Over the Waves is wonderful

This was my second stay this Summer at this beautiful home. My first stay was with my 6 college roommates and the second was with my family. The setting is lovely, the beach and sand bar were interesting, the kayaks easy to access and we enjoyed many sunsets and dark night skies. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. Jon is a wonderful host, always responsive to answer questions and quick to resolve issues. We liked the new trail down to the beach with the artful sign. All of my family wants to return again.

Wonderful house and hosts

We loved our stay at Jon and Carolyn’s home on Beaver Island! It was spacious, tastefully decorated with an artist’s eye for soothing colors and detail (Carolyn is an artist), clean, comfortable and well-equipped with pretty much everything we needed for a relaxing visit and cooking wonderful family meals, as we love doing. The location couldn’t have been more idyllic. The home is located on the secluded Mrs. Redding’s Trail, right on Lake Michigan. The windows offer a magical view of sand and rock formations on the water, with sea gulls, eagles, deer, swans, woodpeckers and other wildlife delighting us every day! We appreciated taking lovely walks right outside the door, with the road opening to beautiful nature trails and historic sights where we could enjoy the magnificent autumn colors. We would recommend this home to anyone and hope to return next year!

Our new favorite spot!

This home truly deserves more then a 5 star rating! It is so clean, newly remodeled and has everything you could think of for your stay! Very generous amounts of dish soap, dish detergent, paper towel, toilet papers and laundry pods! The kitchen has everything you need from every size baking bowl, all the pans and baking sheets and everything was extremely nice! I love finding great VRBO’s to stay in when traveling and this was everyone’s favorite so far! The home is BEAUTIFUL, extremely clean and large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Truly the dream place to stay for vacation! Some of our favorite things were the 5 kayaks, the fire pit, the bunk room was a hit for the kiddos, the amazing sunsets, we love that it was secluded with no neighbors and felt spoiled how nice the home was! We’re on the boat headed home and missing it already!!! Thank you so much for the amazing stay!!!
