Cottages in Bear Island

'We had a wonderful stay at Grandma’s with our two little boys and dog. It was clean, cozy and a perfect location for our weekend ice fishing trip! We enjoyed walking the rail trail, watching ducks by the dock, passing snowmobiles, and playing puzzles/games. Highly recommend for a family getaway. We would definitely stay again.'

'Had a great little getaway at the cottage. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen area was well stocked with plenty of dishes, plates, etc. The bathroom was very clean and had the best water pressure in the shower. I plan to go back in the summer.'

'There was a sewer type smell in the place that was overwhelming. One of the beds was broken upon arrival but they were very responsive and fixed it right away.'

'The photos do not accurately convey how small this cottage was. There is a porch maybe 4 feet deep and 20 feet wide that is unheated and also contains the kitchen. Pass through a sticky door and you're in the bedroom which has maybe 30" of space on either side of a queen bed. There's a sketchy looking ladder to a loft space that a toddler couldn't stand up in. The entire building isn't level. The bed frame was failing to the point that it felt like a sneeze in the middle of the night would...

'If you don’t mind answer all over your counter, illegal propane tank outside for your gas stove, smelling like propane and treacherous stairs going up to the cottage then I guess it might be a place for you. It definitely wasn’t for me. Yours will not be returning.'
