Fabulous bungalow in the most amazing location. However no details to find the property,we had to ask for directions when arriving at the given postcode. Smelt damp when we arrived but after opening windows and a bit of air freshener was lovely. Great accommodation bedding very clean but duvets far too thick for this time of year. As no local shop of which we were advised a few tea bags and coffee and milk and sugar would be a appreciated. these have been supplied at other properties we have stayed at with this rating advertised as dog friendly but very aware no barriers between the bungalow and ilam park full of sheep glad we didn't take the dogs fabulous walks all around
Superb location and quite a nice property, the view out the back is amazing. Only criticism is we arrived to an overwhelming smell of oil and damp. Otherwise we had a lovely stay
We stayed here for a halfterm trip to Alton towers due to it being only 15 mins away. Beautiful cottage, beautiful views. Lots of sheep. Only downfall was no phone signal but wifi provided and as we were only really there morning and evening it didnt really matter. Was nice to have a break from it all and to sit and chill.
Really impressed with the space. Lovely garden as well as the property. Location is great right next to Ilam Park, we went for several hikes direct from the property
A beautiful bungalow on the doorstep of free to walk Ilam Hall grounds and 1.5 mile walk to Dovedale stepping stones.Well equipped property with toys, colouring books and dvds for kids.6 year old didn't want to leave.
All lovely as usual. Met the new wardens. The beds were made up.Couldnt get the bottom oven to work as couldnt reset the clock. Instruction booklet not clear. Put everything in top oven and microwave.Lovely location for walks. Did the Tissington trail from Thorpe to Ashbourne. Had to abort plans for day 2 due to Storm Derragh!Well be back.Lovel location for walks
Lovely stay with family in a beautiful bungalow. Very cosy and had everything you could need. Views were stunning and wonderful walks. Will definitely return.
The cottage was perfect. Originally I was supposed to be travelling down with my wife and children for a catch up with wider family staying in a nearby hotel but unfortunately it ended up being just me due to one of the kids not feeling well! As a result the cottage was bigger than I needed but my interactions with the host and the warden's onsite were all really positive. The cottage was perfect and I would not hesitate to stay here again! Also the nearby walks and Dovedale are perfect for those who love getting outdoors.
Lovely bungalow in a really nice setting, stayed with my husbands, friends and their children as we were their for a wedding.
The bungalow was lovely and well set up for all our needs. The children were really impressed with the selection of toys and games.
The area was beautiful right next to the church, and Ilam park which looks beautiful!
Only negative were the beds looked much comfier than they actually were, the springs in the double bed could be heard when moving (could do with being replaced).
But in comparison to the hotel prices in the area, this lovely bungalow was well priced, and was lovely to be able to have the extra space for us to chill out and catch up.
It would be nice to go back one day and explore the area, and if I do I would definitely book the bungalow again.
We had a lovely stay but it would have been so much better if all the spiders had been removed from the bungalow- they were everywhere!
Lovely hosts & nice stay there.
Excellent, generous sized bungalow with most things needed for your stay. Great area and surroundings. Ample parking.
Would we stay again....most definitely!
Have stayed at this cottage in Ilam 4 times now. The cottage is always clean and tidy. The location is amazing and check in and out process is very simple.
Only small thing I would say could be improved is the wifi. The property does have good Wi-Fi, but it doesnât reach into the bedrooms. Can be a bit frustrating if you are travelling with children. Could just do with a WiFi extender in the hallway so the signal reaches into the bedrooms.
Well equipped spacious cottage in a lovely location.
We stayed for two nights and agree with the other reviews. It is a large and spacious cottage which is well equipped and in a great location to explore all that the Peaks has to offer. It is also great value. As per the other reviews its decor is slightly dated and the double bed could be more comfortable. Oh yes salt and pepper and cooking oil would be a bonus too, but overall a definite 5 star.
The only real negative which doesnât detract from the cottage itself is that we felt on one occasion when returning from a day out that we were sharing the cottage as we found the local vicar and colleague in the garden who was also using the bench on the front porch. Unfortunately while Iâm sure they meant well, it felt like our privacy had been invaded.
