A little further on, the western edge of Lake Windermere (4 miles) invites you to hire rowing boats or set off on a relaxing cruise, taking in the surrounding fells from the water. Latterbarrow (2 miles) provides a short but rewarding climb with far-reaching views. Meanwhile, Grizedale Forest (4 miles) combines woodland trails with outdoor art installations, making it a fun and varied day out for all ages.
