While the cottage offers Wi-Fi, please be aware that it is slow with a 1.5 MB download and 0.1 MB upload speed, and the only service available in the area The remote location of the Quinault Rain Forest may result in unreliable service, there are no refunds should any issues arise.     Cozy and comfortable, and the view cannot be beat! (picture attached) The house was the perfect base for our friend group to adventure from. While it isn't luxurious, it is everything you would need. John was reachable almost instantly, and it was so nice to have all the non-perishable basics so we didn't have to buy spices, tea, etc. I would happily stay here again.

    Floors were filthy - hadn't been swept or mopped - kinda gross to walk around in bare feet. Fridge was literally falling apart. Kitchen not very well-appointed -- missing key pieces of cook ware - broiler pan, cookie sheet would have been nice. Nice location, but too expensive for what it was.

    We had a short but lovely stay. Since we were there just one night we didn’t plan to cook, thought it was easier to eat out with the lodge just across the lake. The kitchen however was very well equipped and would have suited us just fine for prepping a fun meal. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood, right on the lake. It was very cozy, ample size, more beds than we needed for the two of us. We loved that it was pet friendly. Our labs absolutely loved swimming in the lake out front. My husband and I swam with them this morning then afterwards warmed up in the lively sauna off the master bedroom. Communion with John was very easy. He was always a quick email away if we had any questions. The location was just what we wanted for a quick but restful break from our normal routine. We would definitely return, next time for a longer stay and explore more waterfalls and hiking trails. Thanks for your hospitality.

    The view from this property is everything! Overall we loved our stay here. The setup is great for a family. Everything was clean and comfy. The only downside was the kitchen needs some updating. But it was nice they provided starter coffee and tea and spices if you are planning on cooking.

    Beautiful Lake Property in the Park

    We really enjoyed our stay here and agreed one night wasn't enough time. The lake access was incredible. The house is located within Olympic National Park and the other side of the lake is protected U.S. National Forest, so many hikes were close by. We took advantage of the sauna and then jumped in the fairly cold lake. Great house, great location!

    Location location location!!! This house has a spectacular view of Lake Quinault and easy access to some lovely walks in Olympic NP. We also could walk a short distance to the lake for water play. The house was quiet and secluded. Per the host’s suggestion we did our grocery shopping in Aberdeen as there are only small stores near the house. While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the house was comfortable for five adults and a toddler, the furnishings are old and sparse.

    Nice layout indoors, kitchen well-stocked with wares and even some seasonings etc. Excellent communication with gracious host. We stayed a week with some significant atmospheric river storms with much rain and wind, and the area lost power twice, but it was restored quite quickly (kudos to Grays Harbor utility) and the host kept us informed. The view of the ever-changing hills and lake is amazing, and the setting incredibly quiet. Because no one was booked for the day we were leaving, the host gifted us a free extra day, which my grad school daughter and partner much appreciated.

    Great value for outstanding view

    Grateful for this spacious and comfortable, lakeside accommodation with an outstanding view of Lake Quinault. We loved sitting on the deck watching waterfowl, especially loons at dawn. The main bedroom (double-size bed, but only 1 bedside table and lamp), bathroom, and washer/dryer combo unit were clean and well-maintained. Modern AC controls provided great relief from heat outside. The kitchen appeared clean at first, but needs deep cleaning and some repairs. Décor and furnishings are sturdy, but dated. The property has a modest grassy lawn edged with mature trees, overgrown bushes, many insects, and wild blackberries. I couldn’t find a path to the lake, but immediately west of the property is a boat ramp that provides excellent access. Bring swim shoes to protect your feet from the fist-sized, rough, slippery rocks. I didn’t see any water toys or rescue equipment for guests. So bring your own and assume your own risks. Limited accessibility: guests must use stairs to access the living areas. Not ideally furnished for children under 5. John David provided good communications, easy check-in, off-street parking, and speedy wi-fi. As long as the price for renting the house is comparable to the cost of staying at the Lake Quinault Lodge, we would recommend the property and would return if we are ever in the area again.
