The house

Built in 1923 and renovated throughout, the house spans 216 m² over three floors. The layout keeps social and sleeping areas apart: the middle floor is given over entirely to the kitchen, dining area and main living room around the fireplace, while bedrooms are on the top and ground floors. Each floor has its own full bathroom. Large windows and two balconies look out over Eyjafjörður and the mountains beyond.

Sleeping arrangements

Five bedrooms across the top and ground floors: one king bedroom, two queen bedrooms and two bedrooms with 120 cm beds. Two fold-out sofas – a king-size sleeping sofa on the top floor and a sofa bed in the ground-floor lounge – add flexibility for larger groups. The house sleeps up to 12 but is most comfortable for up to 10.

Top floor – master bedroom (king), second bedroom (queen), third bedroom (120 cm), fold-out king sleeping sofa, Samsung Frame TV, full bathroom with bathtub and shower. Laundry room with walk out to balcony.

Middle floor – kitchen, dining area, living room with fireplace, full bathroom. Walk out to veranda / balcony with barbecue and more.

Ground floor – bedroom (queen), bedroom (120 cm), TV lounge with fold-out sofa and Samsung Frame TV, full bathroom.

Outdoors and wellness

A private hot tub and cold tub can be used year-round. Outdoor grill and seating for summer evenings; a warm soak under the northern lights in winter.

Fully equipped kitchen, dedicated workspace with fast Wi-Fi, two Samsung Frame TVs with streaming, PlayStation 5, dart board, rowing machine and a small home gym. Washer and dryer, crib available, smart-home features, parking at the house. EV charging available.

Location

A quiet residential setting with fjord and mountain views, about a five-minute walk to the town center, cafés and restaurants, and 10–15 minutes on foot to the Akureyri swimming pool. Year-round base for skiing at Hlíðarfjall, whale watching, hiking, golf and northern-lights excursions. On good days whales can be seen from the dining room.

Good to know

Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Pets welcome on request. No smoking, no parties; the house is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Not suitable for guests with reduced mobility (three floors, stairs).
