  • Above the beach at Matala, on the south coast of Crete, are a number of caves carved into the cliffside. During the Roman rule of Crete, the caves housed tombs. In the 1960s, the by-then empty caves hosted hippies who used them to camp out in. Matala still has a slight counter-culture feel to it.

  • The access to Preveli Beach is best from the west (near Preveli Monastery), where you can hike down to the beach. The obvious shot I guess, is this rock in the shape of a heart. There are a lot of possibilities for composition, the high tides in these day forced me to shoot straight from an upper position. (21mm / f8 / 2.6sec)
