This house is fantastic!
Took a trip to LA and decided to treat ourselves to a beautiful home in the Hollywood Hills. The house was very clean, with plenty of room. The outdoor deck, with a great view of the Hollywood sign, was a great place to eat, relax, talk and enjoy the great weather. The location is fantastic and car friendly. When you drive thru the hills you notice some nightmare driveway parking. This house had super easy parking which is a huge plus on these tight streets. Also you are centrally located to Hollywood, Universal and the other studios so sightseeing is much easier to do. We loved our stay and definitely would rent again on our next trip to LA.

Our stay was perfect for our needs. Close to attractions and gorgeous site seeing. Beds were super comfortable for a good nights rest. The owner was available and attentive with communication. The only improvement I may suggest is to somehow improve the odor; the property was clean but had some unfresh odors.

Cool old furnishings
The TV was hard to work as i believe the batteries in the remote was dead, but other than thatthe place was really interesting. Very old, anique furniture, yet comfortable. Neat place to stay.

Wish you would ve mentioned the problem with TV. We have a charger in the drawer in the living room. I m glad you enjoyed our family home, and yes it is eclectic!

Fantastic Stay and a Great Host
We absolutely loved staying at the property. Deck was great for relaxing and the neighborhood was very quiet. Paula, the host, was great to work with and was so helpful during our stay. Close proximity to Hollywood, Burbank, hiking, and freeway access. Such a beautiful area and just down the road was the Beachwood Market and the Beachwood Cafe. Clean rental and had everything we needed. We would love to stay here again.

Spacious and Comfortable
Paula's home was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable for our group of 4 adults. Beautiful views, nice furnishings, lovely deck, and cute kitchenette. We were able to put together a yummy meal using the crockpot and rice cooker in the morning, and after a busy day, had dinner waiting when we returned home. Would love to stay here again in the future.

Amazing stay
This home has spectacular views of both the surrounding hills, but downtown LA as well. It’s close to Griffith Park, and anything Hollywood you would want to do. Paula is a wonderful and kind person. She has good food suggestions and has a her own family restaurant, which she was too humble to tell us about at first. I’ll tell you right now, you must go to this restaurant The Cat and Fiddle. It’s British food with vegetarian options. I can’t recommend this rental enough. I would definitely stay there again.

This house is in the best part of the hills. A few steps from the house is one of the best nighttime vistas of the entire city as well. We had one issue with the house, but owner took care of it ASAP-- very responsive...

Perfect location, Old School Hollywood, LOCATION, location , location!!!
This house is exactly as advertised. We are very familiar with LA and everything was within 20 mins of travel which is unheard of in LA. The view from the back deck is perfect for mornings and sunsets. You get the typical tourist drivers up the hills so just be careful when driving (which is a known fact and nothing to do with the house). Owner was in constant contact (without being overbearing) ensuring our stay was what we expected. I’m a constant traveler and read every detail about this house so it clearly met my expectations. Thank you for having us and hope to see you again soon!!

Absolutely amazing!
The location of this property is unmatched. Every time we went out to sight see, our entire family was anxious to get back to the house and sit on the porch with the Hollywood sign in view. The property owner communicated frequently and gave us some dining ideas. Great place to stay!! Also, the horseback riding just down the street is so much fun!

If your planning on retiring this house, make sure there is no planned construction while your on vacation! EVERY DAY, ALL DAY , ROOFERS WERE THERE MAKING NOISE AND A HUGE MESS. A complimentary dinner does not make up for the inconvenience

I was out of the country for a couple of days and had spotty phone service. If you had contacted me by email, I would ve stopped all of the workers immediately. They were supposed to have finished the work before your arrival, but had problems with the inspectors coming in a timely manner. They didn't work on June 24,25,30 and July 1st, and you did say how you were sightseeing daily, and that would ve meant you were gone most of the day. I did apologize and offered you dinner for your group and you seemed ok with that. If you would ve asked for a partial refund, I would ve gladly given it. You also did mention that you would not give a bad review, which I thought was very understanding . If you do re book with us, we can arrange a discount.

The perfect location!
This home is spectacular. The location is at the foot of the iconic Hollywood sign in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood. We loved sitting on the deck and just taking in the scenery. The rooms are comfy and full of fun surprises... books, gadgets, art and games. The kitchenette is tiny but packs everything you need into the space. The host was super easy to communicate with and helpful. The ease of coming and going through the auto lock system was great. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back someday! Outstanding!!

Great location, the owners are super quick in responding to any questions etc. everything was as described however there were just a couple of things that I will mention just for anyone who is planning to stay at the property. These things did not really affect my stay. Wifi is a bit hit and miss at times, this is probably due to the rental part of the property being fed with wifi by extenders. The property is large with the bedrooms and bathrooms down two flights of stairs. Not a problem for my stay but anyone with small children or mobility issues may find this a challenge The lighting in the upstairs living room is a little dull and in my opinion needs to been a little brighter for use in the evenings. Other than that it suited our needs and was a lovely quiet away from crowds property with great views of the Hollywood sign. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a wonderfully spacious place to stay with gorgeous views. The bedrooms, bathrooms, efficiency kitchen and deck are on the lower level with a fabulous great room to relax on the upper level. LA Adventure
We needed somewhere to sleep mostly, as we were showing friends around LA for their first time there. This little gem was perfect for that and a whole lot more. Coming back from a long day of sightseeing to sit on the deck, enjoying the quiet canyon and looking up at the Hollywood sign was amazing. Close to highway and perfectly located to get to anywhere in LA easily. It is definitely on our list of "will stay again!"

This place was very cool and unique. Shared with the owner but totally separate. Owner was great and very helpful. Beautiful deck with view of the Hollywood sign. Living room upstairs with bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. Very small efficiency kitchen but good for coffee in the morning and fridge for drinks and snacks. Perfect if you’re just planning to eat out on your trip. Secluded in the Hollywood Hills with great walks (for those that like hiking hills) and a nice little town with grocery store and great diner at the base. We’d stay there again.

My did not like's
Place was very clean but few things I disliked is that the larger fridge is outside in the patio area, small fridge is inside lower floor, sink is very small , Dinning table is upstairs gotta go up and down stairs to put things in the fridge. There was very little light upstairs specially in the dinning area. Some of this details are specified in the description but some are not . Road to the home is very narrow up the hill which made me a bit uncomfortable, Beautiful views though. Personally I will not rent this location anymore due to price per night is too much for what you get.

We do have dimmers in the living room, and I wish she would ve commented on the lighting, and I would ve given her that info. We have a large dining table, next to fridge and BBQ, on the deck, which seems to work for other guests. The house rents for 4 people, she said there were 2 when renting, and there were 7-8 that actually stayed there. I can see the need for a larger fridge with that amount of people. The roads were built in the 1920’s, which add to the charm of the road to the Hollywood sign. The house itself is midcentury with various vintage and newer items mixed and is very charming. The location is considered in pricing, and is in line with other rentals that close to the Hollywood sign. I m glad you enjoyed the awesome view.

Quiet unique affordable relative to other places in Hollywood Hills
We did not spend much time there but when we were there we really enjoyed the tranquil large deck with awesome views of the hills, the sign, and custom homes architecture. Very quiet , a plus for me to be able to sleep. Had a great adventure one day based on info found in an L.A. guide book in the living room! Paula and her daughter responded right away upon arrival to help us get in. Thank you.

Where is the kitchen?
We had a great stay at the house, which is fantastically located for sunset & Hollywood Boulevards. We also enjoyed being away from the mayhem of downtown Los Angeles up in the hills. Our only criticism of the house was the kitchen was not fit for cooking due to its small size, and this was unlike other properties we had experienced in the US If you want to eat out all the time or barbecue in the summer house is perfect

Please note that all of the house amenities are in the info on the house, and should be viewed prior to booking. Even though we don t have a conventional kitchen, we have a rice cooker, crock pot, panini press, electric kettle, coffee maker, small convection oven, toaster oven and complete kitchen supplies. I guess it could be referred by some as glamping ! Fun and adverture. We did enjoy having you as our guests.

Charming property!
Very clean property with great view of the Hollywood sign! There is an incredible view of the lights of LA just steps away as well. We saw there was only a kitchenette in the description and packed accordingly. If you plan on cooking or will need to do lots of dishes, this may not be the place for you. Paula was a lovely hostess. We would stay here again.

Fantastic Place In Fantastic Location
Literally everything was great! Loved everything about it. We did not plan to hike/walk, but ended up hiking/walking for a portion of each day since the location was so great. Extremely convenient location for all of LA area (i.e., Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Orange County, Santa Clarita Valley, etc.). Be prepared to drive on narrow, winding roads with hairpin turns. I liked it. The drive made my wife a bit nervous, but she loved the house and location, so it was well worth it!

This home is a short distance away from the hustle of downtown yet feels distant and serene. Perfect getaway for a girl’s trip. The Hollywood sign was so close we couldn’t believe it. Made cooking food work with the grill - be respectful and clean your grill after use. The only tricky situation was doing dishes in the small kitchen sink. Just be aware of how much you use and it’ll be fine. All is stated perfectly in the description of the house. Loved the board games and decor of the house. It was even better than what the photos show.

Enjoyed staying at this property. As other reviewers have noted, lack of a traditional kitchen maybe a problem to some but as long as you realize/plan to this limitation you should be good. The place is better than the pictures and located in a safe neighborhood. A pointer for anyone renting this place - you are better of renting a smaller car with higher clearance (think medium SUV). For parents considering hiking - you can park at end of Canyon drive parking lot (Bronson Canyon playground/Camp Hollywood land) and chose between multiple hiking routes of various levels - could also add in a playground visit and picnic by where you park. I think it’s also possible to directly hike from Deronda Dr although we didn’t do that. Overall a great stay, thanks!

The location was superb. Walking distance to the hiking trails around the Hollywood sign and beyond if desired. A short drive or Uber to the sites and excellent restaurants. The house is very comfortable, and the deck is relaxing with a direct close view of the Hollywood sign. A nicely stocked local grocery store in the neighborhood is just down the road. Also, a local Cafe to enjoy. Superior cleanliness and a very responsive host. We Look forward to another visit.

This was the most perfect location and house for our family. With the views of LA and the Hollywood Sign! The rooms were perfect and spacious. Loved the Holiday Decor! I wish we could have stayed here longer. Everything we needed. Beds were very comfortaable. Penty of bathroom space. Huge deck, although it rained most of the time, so we couldn't use it. But loved the stay. If we come back to Hollywood, we will definitely stay here again!

Incredible opportunity to stay in Hollywood hills in an updated vintage LA property
Flawless location in hills. Private location built into side of hill below the sign. Nice ride up through incredibly diverse architecture brings you to great views of city. Old style furniture in living room with floor to ceiling views of surrounding hills and buildings. Very comfortable with clean beds and bathrooms. Deck is incredible, large and comfortable. Cooking is limited but disclosed up front. Creativity solves that. Perfect for leftovers. We were disappointed that we didn't meet host until it was time to leave. She was very niice and inviting. Only advice, watch out when putting a suitcase with wheels on ground outside. Gravity takes over big time !

This hip Hollywood home is exactly as shown in the pics. The highlight is the patio and spectacular view of the HOLLYWOOD sign. The home is easy to find in a quaint quiet neighborhood and offers easy access to Hollywood and the freeway to get around town. As stated, there isn’t an actual “kitchen”, but it works for snacks and morning coffee. The beds are comfortable and the wifi works well, however, if you need TV in the bedrooms, you will need to bring a laptop or tablet. We enjoyed our stay, and this house is a great base for travelers who plan on exploring the Los Angeles area.

Great Host, Great Location!
Paula has everything you need at her lovely 2 bedroom in the Hollywood Hills. Evenings are nice and cool and the view on the deck can't be beat! Her towels are super soft too. The kitchenette, propane grill (with a bruner), and BBQ were great for our family of 4 to prep meals together. There is a full sized fridge on the deck and a mini fridge inside. Her restaurant is pretty awesome too! It was a special spot for our family members from our of town that they won't soon forget. Thank you, Paula!
