"The hotel was too isolated with very limited access to public transport or taxis (e.g. to restaurants or the airport). I arrived relatively late (10.30 pm) and my room key was available - but at a neighbouring hotel. In my two nights stay, i failed to understand where check-in or check-out actually was for the Campanile! Breakfast was fine, though. The room was clean and adequate for my needs."

"The owner provided outstanding service for us. We were unable to use our US credit cards at the gas station and he offered to drive with us to a station and use his card and we paid him for the gas. Don’t be put off by the fact that reception for check in closes at 9; the automated kiosk was very easy to use. The rooms and breakfast are basic but fine for an overnight stop. "

"Hotel was good, service was excellent. Breakfast was very nice. Unfortunately they had a private function in the dining room so we had to eat else where. We had a flat tyre next morning and the owner could not have done more for us as we were having trouble getting the wheel off, he changed the wheel for us and put the faulty wheel in the boot as well. We can't thank him enough."

"Friendly reception, although limited English, so had to try my limited French. Arrived around 20:00 and was encouraged to take dinner as soon as possible. Service and food very good, excellent use of local produce and wine, simple but tasty. Good choices of a la carte and day's specials. Room was comfortable and spacious, some noise from the nearby road, but nothing that affected sleep. I did not try the breakfast as I was still full from the previous evening. Friendly farewell. "La Chaumiere du Bois is the best choice if you are interested to travel around in the Pyrineys. It provides parking and is closed to commercial area of Tarbes. Unfortunately, during my stay the restaurant ws closed."

"This is a lovely if basic hotel in a gorgeous location but it’s very remote and the little lane to get there is single track so perhaps not great in the dark. The food in the renowned restaurant is excellent with menus at €25, €35 and €45. However breakfast at €12 per person offers minimal choice and quantity and some may wish to decline it. Overall this is a brilliant establishment if you’re luck enough to get one of the small number of their rooms."
