The Umi is in a great, central location, near the Paddington train station and Bayswater Tube station and is situated on a lovely, leafy square of Georgian terrace houses. I have stayed in this hotel on three separate occasions, each time booking a single room. Because the hotel has been converted from combined terrace houses, the rooms are all different sizes and shapes. On my first stay, I was given a double bed and a good size room. On the second stay, I had a single bed in a small room with an even smaller bathroom. It was the kind of bathroom where when you sat on the toilet, your knees and legs were in the shower. On my third stay, the room was an even smaller single room - about the size of a walk-in closet! I had to store my suitcase under the narrow desk that ran the length of the room. There was literally no other floor space for it! The furniture in the all rooms was a bit tatty and well-worn. However, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. There were tea making facilities, flat screen TVs, and hairdryers in each room. Another plus was that there were 4 computers in the reception with internet access for a small fee, although if you have your own computer, wifi is available in each room. The hotel also has a small locked room for luggage storage. Overall, this hotel was clean, quiet, and I was able to get a good night's rest. Plus, you simply can't beat the price and great location. Despite being a bit rough around the edges, I would stay there again.
