Gnome Home is located in the quaint town of BZ Corner, in between Husum and Trout Lake, Washington. It's a rural area, but a quick 15 minute drive to Hood River and White Salmon. Lots of privacy, forest and wildlife! Our neighborhood is walkable along the two lane rural road.
Depending on cell carrier, cell service may be spotty. Our internet connection is fast. Rural areas are subject to power outages, planned or unplanned.
The Columbia River Gorge is a designated National Scenic Area, one step down from a National Park in terms of protection and oversight. This special designation means the region is subject to strict regulations aimed at preserving its natural beauty, wildlife, and peaceful rural environment. Local authorities actively enforce rules around noise, unregistered guests, and large gatherings. These measures are in place to protect the experience of all guests and neighbors, and we truly appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain the privilege of hosting in such a special place.

Q: Can I invite visitors to the home that aren't overnight guests.
A: All guests must be registered whether overnight or day visitors and must not exceed 12 total. No revolving door guest policy.
Q: Can I get a check-in/late check out?
A: We love to accomodate early check-in and late check out requests whenever possible! We charge a small $30/fee per hour for the first 3 hours, then we recommend considering booking the additional night so you don't have to rush.
Q: Can I drop my luggage off before check in?
A: Yes! If the home is ready, we can utilize the early check in policy
Q: Can I book on behalf of a friend, family member, or co-worker?
A: No. Third party bookings are prohibited per Airbnb, VRBO and vacation rental insurance policies. Please have the person who is staying book themselves.

A: Though the roads of community will be plowed in the winter, it is strongly recommended that you travel to the property via 4-wheel drive due to some steeper roads leading up to the property.
Q: What's the cancellation policy?
A: Firm cancellation policy: To receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in. Guests can also get a full refund within 48 hours of booking if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before check-in. If guests cancel between 7 and 30 days before check-in, you’ll be paid 50% for all nights. If guests cancel less than 7 days before check-in, hosts be paid 100% for all nights. If booked on VRBO or directly, the payment processing fee is not refunded.
Q: Why do you charge an extra guest fee?
A: We charge an additional guest fee for parties over 6, with a maximum of 12 guests, to maintain affordability for smaller groups while accommodating larger ones. This pricing structure ensures that smaller groups can enjoy Gnome Home at a more accessible rate, while the additional fees for larger groups help cover the extra costs associated with increased usage of amenities and utilities. This way, we can provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests.
