A small wooden hut in a large community

Bjerghuse, between the fjord and the North Sea, is a seaside resort with a history. What was a children's colony back in the 50s is today a gathering place where you can make new friends and become part of a larger community. In the seaside resort, you can find closeness and simplicity in one of the small cabins, where there is only one room to both sleep and stay in.





The cabin has a cozy atmosphere. When you enter, you're surrounded by wooden walls and a functional interior. Make yourself a cup of coffee in the kitchenette and sit around the small folding table on the wall. You can also make a jug of lemonade for the kids and drink it outside in the sun on the terrace. In the bathroom you can take a cold shower after a long, hot day. If you come in winter, you can warm your towel on the towel dryer. When evening falls in the cabin, you can gather on the sofa for a little bedtime reading before the kids head up to the bunk beds. The cabin can be booked with three single beds or with a queen bed and a single bed.



In the beach resort, you have ten neighbors. If you want to, there are plenty of opportunities to become part of a new community. In the large common house, you'll find an extension of the cabin's living room. Bring your knitting and sit in the fireplace lounge or meet some new friends over a game of Ludo. You can also grill sausages on the barbecue in the outdoor area around the common house. And if dinner needs a little flavor, you can probably find some herbs in the kitchen garden. At the fire pit you can sit all evening and watch the light slowly fade while the kids roast marshmallows with the other kids from the neighboring cabins.

During the day you can go out and discover the area, where there is both beautiful nature and cultural experiences. For example, visit Bovbjerg Lighthouse, where art exhibitions are often held. In the fishing village of Thorsminde you'll find the Stranding Museum St. George, where you can hear about some of history's dramatic strandings on the west coast. You can also take the kids to the forest playground, which is close to the seaside resort. Let the kids run and play among the trees while you take a deep breath of the fresh forest air. At Staby Ismejeri you can taste a handmade farmhouse ice cream and take a look inside the cowshed. Here, children can learn how a cow is milked or get to cuddle the little calves.
