The Space:

The living area sets the tone, with thoughtful decoration and soft natural light. The sofa bed makes this room flexible, ready to host extra guests when you want to travel together. The kitchenette is fully equipped and opens straight onto the dining area, with a filter coffee maker, an espresso machine and everything else you might need during your stay. The bedroom holds a queen bed dressed in fresh linens. The bathroom has a cabin shower and the considered touches you would want at the end of a day on the coast, with toiletries provided.

The Neighborhood:

Agia Efimia is a working fishing village on the eastern coast of Kefalonia, set against pine clad hills that fall toward a sheltered bay opposite the island of Ithaca. Life here moves at the pace of the water, with traditional houses, waterside tavernas, and a harbour where yacht flotillas call in through the season. The village has a well stocked supermarket, a bakery, cafes, and tavernas serving fresh fish and Kefalonian cooking, all within easy walking distance.

The village beach sits roughly 200 metres from the harbour and offers calm, clear water with white pebbles, ideal for an unhurried morning swim. Agia Paraskevi beach is about 4 km away, an organised beach with rentals and a relaxed cafe scene. Myrtos beach, the icon of the island with its long arc of white pebbles and luminous water, is around 10 km along the coast road. Antisamos, the east coast bay from the filming of Captain Corelli's Mandolin, is about 13 km away. Quieter coves such as Sikidi Bay can be reached by boat.

Inland, the limestone landscape rises toward Mount Ainos National Park, a protected forest of black pines that crowns the island, around 30 km away with walking trails and views over the Ionian.

For local sights, the underground lake of Melissani is around 6 km away, where a short boat ride passes through turquoise water lit by an open cave roof. Drogarati Cave, with its great chamber and stalactites, is roughly 10 km along the same road. The village of Assos and its Venetian castle sit about 16 km north, and Fiskardo, the village that survived the 1953 earthquake intact, is around 25 km up the coast.

Local life leans toward the sea and the table, with boat rentals, sailing, scuba diving, and snorkeling part of the rhythm here, and cycling routes never far. In summer, village festivals bring music, dance, and tables of local wine and Kefalonian dishes. An ideal destination for nature lovers and those seeking authentic local experiences all year round.
