Lovely apartment
The apartment is cozy, clean and very welcoming. It is close to all activities but far enough away to enjoy quiet time. The kitchen is well stocked and having a washing machine was extremely useful. Great coffee shops and supermarket nearby. The hosts responded to all questions very promptly and were easy to deal with. The pictures accurately display the apartment. The terrace is delightful, a great place to watch the cruise ships while soaking up some sun. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as an ideal home away from home.

Top-Terrasse mit liebevoll eingerichtetem Apartment
Ansprechendes, gut ausgestattetes Apartment in netter Umgebung. Zum Centrum ist es ein kleiner Fussmarsch, der aber durchaus vertretbar ist. Die Terrasse ist einmalig und hat einen Topblick. Wir können diese Location guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen!

Gemischte Gefühle
Unsere Bewertung ist etwas zwiespältig. Zuerst das Positive: die FeWo war schön, sehr sauber, gut eingerichtet und entsprach genau der Beschreibung; auch die Fotos waren realistisch. Der Besitzer, den wir allerdings nicht persönlich kennengelernt haben, war uns behilfich, das zunächst verloren geglaubte Gepäck, mit zwei Tagen Verspätung, anzuliefern. Nun das Negative, das wir keineswegs dem Besitzer anlasten wollen. Unsere Strasse wurde von unverantwortlichen, agressiven Motorradfahrern als Rennstrecke benutzt, was eine enorme Lärmbelastung darstellte und unseren Aufenthalt unangenehm beeinflusste. Ich habe in dieser Sache einen Beschwerdebrief an die Stadtverwaltung gerichtet, der auch höflich beantwortet wurde. Madeira, und Funchal, fanden wir schön und attraktiv als Reiseziel, obwohl wir in den 23 Tagen unseres Aufenthalts (Ende März-Anfang April) ziemlich viel Regen hatten. Angesichts des offenbaren Desinteresses der örtlichen Polizei, gegen die Misstände einzuschreiten, werden wir in nächster Zukunft von einem weiteren Aufenthalt in Funchal absehen. Dabei empfinden wir es als schmerzlich, dass die FeWo-Besitzer, die alles tun, um die Stadt für Touristen interessant zu machen, unter dieser misslichen Situation zu leiden haben.

Our stay at Imaculado Coração de Maria Apertment in Rua do Til
When we moved from another apartment to Luis apartment we were so pleased to have done so. Fell in love with it immediately, as it is so unique! Everything that we needed at hand too. Upon request Luis and Miguel provided two new sunloungers in the colour of our choice, for our sunbathing and subsequent guests. This was much appreciated. They are both very helpful and quick to respond by voice, text, or email. Thank you. The view from the apartment are stunning. The buses close by wonderful. I walked up from the city a few times, however a really steep hill! Use the bus! Walking to the city is a comfortable 25 minutes, but very pleasant via the Santa Luzia Park and down to the shopping area then to Harbour area. The stairs up to the apartment are easygoing. There is a river stream tumbling down close by, which gives a lovely background sound. It is such a lovely quiet ambiance at the apartment that suited us very well indeed. Close by are all food requirements, plus a cafe, although Continent supermarket is easy to get to as well for a comprehensive shop. Best supermarket close to bus stop is Pinko Doce by Anadia Shopping. We are long term guests so enjoyed extended stay. It didn’t rain once during our stay in the daytime. Amazing terrace, great view, super comfortable
We stayed here for a week in November and loved it. First of all, Luis and his wife personally offered to pick us up from the bus stop at the bottom of the hill and drive us to the apartment, which was very kind and appreciated since we had heavy packs. He then dropped us at the apartment and introduced is to Miguel, who showed us around the place and left information about how to contact him in case we need anything. Super helpful, very quick in and out. The apartment, in a word, rocks. It's the fourth floor, and no elevator, but it never bothers us to walk flights of stairs. The view from the terrace, the living room and the bedroom looks out over the harbor. It's fun to see cruise ships coming in to dock at sunrise, and watch the clouds blow over the mountain behind us. There was a grocery store and a bakery/restaurant just a minute away, which was really convenient. Both very nice. The walk down to the water and downtown Funchal wasn't that bad at all - it was actually nice to work off our dinner a little bit. But you can totally catch a #21 bus up the hill for a Euro. You can also skip downtown, especially on busy tourist days, and laze around the apartment, only going to the neighborhood store or bakery for necessary items. It's really a great place for the price. Quiet. Other people said they heard barking dogs. We stayed a week and only heard one or two dogs bark a few times. Not a big deal at all. Bottom line, they kept the place clean and stocked with everything you need. It's close enough to town for easy walking, but far enough away to get clear from the meandering cruise ship crowd. Great owners who bent over backward for us - we were awaiting a sailboat to arrive in Funchal so we could catch it and set sail across the Atlantic for Antigua. Luis was very accommodating to us because of changing dates. We highly recommend this place to anyone, but especially to those who want to live in ultimate luxury for a song. Thanks for the great experience!
