Beautiful old building with limited outlets and closet space. Very clean and staff/owner were helpful with needs. Perfect for A short stay and close to everything
Great staff. Answered all my questions before my visit. The location is super, hidden gem. Close to many great restaurants.I had been to Eastham many times, and I just learned about it. Very cool vibe, unique vintage decor, not super modern, but I prefer the unique.vintage. Great patio in back too. Super relaxing.
If you stay at a regular hotel or inn I feel safe and quiet but not inspired or fun. Rugosa has fun in its soul. Our room had curated art and just beautiful stuff. It was like walking into the mind of an artist--expressive and non-judgemental--I felt like I was in my home. Sure, there is a kitchen, good coffee, beautiful grounds and pets are welcome--but the soul of Rugosa is art and love. Thanks Joey and Luna.
We were a party of three seniors celebrating two birthdays for the weekend. I found The Rugosa Guest House on line and we were all pleasantly surprised. At first sight itâs a little eccentric but in a whimsical way. Joey greeted us upon our arrival and couldnât have been more helpful. We booked a 2 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath suite (but could have done without the jacuzzi next to the king size bed :>)). Our rooms were very clean and provided ample fresh linens. Our suite was very comfortableâŠ.including the beds! We also had a small balcony which overlooked the pool area.
Overall the experience was great. Just a few minor adjustment would have earned five stars from me.
The little freezer in the kitchen needs severe defrosting. It literally looked like items trapped in a tiny glacier.
The Keurig coffee maker probably needs to be descaled. It doesnât dispense the appropriate water no matter which setting is selected. Had to run it at least twice for the same pod.
The Xifinity remote is missing a few buttons. While most things could probably be selected using the voice command option, navigating using the arrow buttons is impossible. A simple call to the cable company should easily fix this, even if they charge for a new one.
The floor in Room 1 was a little dirty, but only noticed when walking barefoot. And there was still some trash from a previous guest in the bathroom bin. The hot water for the shower was limiting.
The place overall was full of charm with its tchotchkes and eclectic artwork throughout. It felt like staying in the house of a favorite relative.
Fun, eclectic vibe with lots of interesting art. Access to a shared kitchen was convenient for a quick meal and to heat up leftovers. First experience with contactless arrival and it all worked fine.
We were just there for one night after the Wellfleet Oyster Festival. Off season, we were one of 2-3 rooms. We were surprised with a free upgrade to the Captains Quarters. Big room with 4-poster bed and in-room jacuzzi. Very cool building inside and out. Lovely place, tons of original artwork everywhere, relaxed with morning coffee in the sunny living room among the artwork, sculptures, plants, high beams and leather couches. Our kind of place.
I loved staying here but you need a full time presence on the property to help out with questions and needs. Your go to person didn't answer phone and when it went to voice mail it was always full so I couldnt leave message.
From the outlook this hotel looks artistic and have a good taste in the decor and landscaping. However, cleanliness inside the rooms need to be improved. We had to deal with spider webs and a dirty hot tub. I had to fill and drain the hot tub multiple time, and wipe the tub with a towel to remove the dirt. Although we had issues with cleanliness, I do not want to knock off the stars but this is something it can be improved for the future guests. Another thing to note is front desk is not available throughout the stay and the number they asked us to reach out goes straight to voicemail and it was full.
Place is a joke. Basically someoneâs house who operates a commercial kitchen there. After I left the continued to car he my card unauthorized for non existent charges.
