    Historic villa in Caldas da Rainha
    This old quinta (typical Portuguese farmhouse) dating from 1928 has been fully renovated in 2003. It is located in the hamlet of Serra do Bouro, municipality of Caldas da Rainha, right in the heart of the Costa de Prata (Silver Coast). It has all modern conveniences from the centralised vacuum cleaner to the satellite television, Wi-Fi Internet connection, dishwasher, washing machine, electric clothes horse, refrigerator and freezer, cooker, electric oven, microwave, hair dryer, iron, oil central heating, etc. Sheets, bath towels, tea towels, tablecloths, etc. are provided. The bedding is new and mattresses are particularly thick. Strictly non-smoking house. A final cleaning service is included and if you want, a trustworthy person can do the cleaning once or several times a week or babysit. There are 4 bedrooms: 3 with large cupboards and twin beds and 1 with bunk beds. Each bedroom is decorated along the animal them: peixe (fish), gato (cat), burro (donkey: we are in Serra do Bouro) and galo (cock). 2 of the 4 bedrooms open onto the indoor courtyard and the pool via French doors. There is a large living room with wood-burning stove (insert system with closed door). The entire house is on the ground floor except the main bedroom and its ensuite bathroom. There is a total of 250 m² surface area. There are 2 classical bathrooms and a shower room There is a large kitchen/dining room with family table for 8 people and an outdoor covered barbecue area with garden table and chairs for 8 people too. The pool with Portuguese mosaic is 5x7.5 m and 1.50 m deep (it is such a spectacle at night when it is lit). The pool house and 6 sunloungers complete the equipment. The pool is surrounded by an authentic large round terrace built in the centre of the quinta. You can easily park: you can park as many cars as you want in the indoor courtyard. The 1080 m² property located in the countryside is fully surrounded by walls and protected by an electric gate with remote control. The garden is composed of some trees that surround the indoor courtyard made of small white Portuguese stones. To visit in the region The quinta de Santa Isabel is 4 km from the beach of Foz do Arelho (greatest lagoon in Europe), 5 km from São Martinho do Porto (wonderful bay sheltered from the waves ideal for children), 5 km from the A8 motorway, 6 km from Caldas da Rainha (the “queen’s bath” which is a big town with 52000 inhabitants and great shops, cinemas, famous ceramics, etc. by the shopping centre), 17 km from Obidos (small unspoilt medieval town protected by impressive ramparts, one of the 7 wonders of Portugal that is currently waiting for its classification by the Unesco as World Heritage), 36 km from Alcobaça (town and resting place of Ines de Castro, the “dead queen” of Henry de Montherlant, World Heritage), 39 km from Peniche (the most westerly place of Continental Europe, departure port for trips towards the nature reserve of the Berlengas Archipelago), 40 km from Nazaré (the greatest beach in the centre of Portugal, paradise of surfers, the highest waves of Europe), 67 km from the Monastery of Batalha (World Heritage, mausoleum of the kings of Portugal, place of the decisive victory of the Portuguese over the Castilians in 1385), 80 km from the Mafra National Palace (the Portuguese Versailles built by 50000 workers during 13 years), 83 km from Fatima (the town of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917), 96 km from Lisbon International Airport, 101 km from the Portuguese capital, 108 km from Sintra (World Heritage), 117 km from Cascais and Estoril (luxury seaside resorts with sumptuous palaces from another period, exile land of the Spanish, Italian and Bulgarian royal families), 132 km from Coimbra (very old university town and World Heritage), etc. Important point: in this region, even in summer, roads are uncongested.       Heerlijke vakantie

      We hebben echt genoten van onze vakantie in de Quinta. Goede ligging, heerlijk rustig en veel ruimte. Het huis is ruim, netjes en voorzien van alle gemakken. Wij vonden vooral het zwembad en de het overdekte terras aan de zijkant zeer aangenaam vertoeven. Hartelijke ontvangst door Valerie, die voor vragen makkelijk te bereiken was.

        Très belle et confortable maison , environnement très agréable avec l'odeur d'eucalyptus des forêts qui nous entoure. Jardin et extérieur très beau et agréable avec la piscine pour de bons moments de détente. Très bon accueil des personnes qui s'occupe de la propriété.

          The villa is absolutely gorgeous-a perfect size for our family of 6 plus 2 babies. It was beatifully presented and extremely clean. We received such a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Stepan who even purchased a high chair for my little boy to use prior to our stay. Communication prior to the holiday was prompt and friendly. We really enjoyed using the pool and the seating area outside for bbqs. Stepan also provided information about places to eat locally and this was invaluable during our stay. His recommendations were excellent and as a result we ate out cheaply but at high quality restaurants. The local area is stunning and we enjoyed trips to the lagoon, Calhas da Rainha and Óbidos. We would highly recommend the area and the villa. Thank you for a wonderful holiday

              Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay at your exquisite villa. we have traveled throughout Europe and this quinta is a five star! The furnishings were first class and the dryer was truly appreciated. Raymond was extremely helpful and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. We had no idea we were so close to the ocean and this was also a bonus. Thank you again for the opportunity and our vacation to Portugal was truly memorable.
