Our stay
Our arrival was horrible, we messaged the hotel that we will arrive early in the morning. I never got a reply so I assumed it was okay. On arrival the receptionist lady (name: Myra) said the room was available but we had to pay for a full day (400 dirhams). We told about our e-mails and that the price is too much for a few hours. She didn't know about the contact and said she will check it and come back at it. She allowed us to go in the room without paying. After a few days she called us saying they didn't receive the e-mails (although I had the printed evidence with me) and that we had to pay for the early check-in. After some discussion the manager came by and told that we had to pay 200 dirhams (while the receptionist said 400 dirhams on arrival??? Seems like she wanted extra money for herself). The manager also gave a discount because he didn't want more drama and he believed our story. The reception staff was arrogant. The working staff was friendly. The breakfast choice was little. The hotel was noisy, a lot of noise from the hallway and the refridgerator in the room. The name of the hotel isn’t known by the taxi drivers. No bathrobes in the room. No wall sockets at the bed. If you ask for something (like toilet paper) you have to wait very long. The location of the hotel was good, the Deira City Centre and metro very closeby. Overall an unpleasant stay because of the dramatic check-in and the discussion some days later.
